Cool, thanks.
I have a home hardware that's like 20 minutes away.
Home hardware seems to carry "hard to find in Canada" products like Bar Keepers Friend LOL

Myron, good job on the masking but I might cover up the engine and the fenders/bumper as well with some garbage bags. What are you going to do about the badge? And please post pics when you're done, I definitely want to do this when the weather improves.

I don't know if anyone that's doing the black chrome emblems will sell me their stock badge. If they are then I won't bother taping it up. How is the badge attached? Screws or tabs?

I believe there are a couple screws holding it in place that are only accessible when the bumper is removed. You can find youtube vid somewhere showing how to remove the bumper, it really isnt that hard...

trust me man, it's hard when it's all covered with dirty and salt. No way in hell can you remove the clips, it's all caked up and shit, and bolts are a pain in the ass to take off. If I was in a sunny climate and my TL has never seen a canadian winter, I would take off the bumper.

Looks good so far! I don't think taping off the "A" emblem with the ring would be too hard but maybe take a bit. Just tear the painters tape into small strips and make the circle, etc. Use an exacto knife, razor blade, etc and you should be golden. Once the weather clears up I might do this!
Actually...I'll be home this weekend in my parents heated garage. Hmm....might have to do some experimenting

lol at all the masking.
i didnt bother masking anything off really. the stuff is really forgiving and very easy to clean up overspray with no damage at all to the surface underneath.

I didn't. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I remember using a short philips screwdriver and a ratchet extension to loosen that center grille piece.
I didn't use the actual ratchet. I just turned it by hand.

You actually don't have to remove the bumper to get the emblem off...you can pry the top part of the front bumper out enough to reach in with a short screwdriver...there are 5 screws holding the center bar that you are painting on...evenly spaced and 1 in the middle that you can't see...once you take that off, you can unscrew the 2 smaller screws for the emblem.
I've done this numerous times.
In addition, the headlights are accessible to change the bulbs by removing front rim and pulling back fenderliner.
PITA, but less work than taking off the whole bumper.
J.
How does this hold up to road debris/chips?

I'm trying to decide if I should just paint the center bar which is silver, or also hit the whole black area surrounding it so it will be the same black and same material. The surrounding part is part of the bumper, but the silver bottom trim is removable. That was confusing... here, I circled the removable silver trim in red.
Anyone who did this, did you paint just the silver center bar, or all of the black area up to the circled trim?

it is definitely less tedious than wrapping in vinyl; with this all you need to do is spray it on! i ended up taking off the vinyl i had on my grill and just doing this instead just cuz i decided i liked the matte look better and i didn't want to go through the process of taking off my glossy vinyl and putting on the matte one all over again
