PICS-NBP with NXT MEGUIARS WAX JOB

Take a look, the camera I use is a piece so the pics arent as clear as possible, sorry.

I totally love the wet look this Meguiars NXT Wax does to the NBP.

I think you'll need to share your album. I got an error saying I wasn't the owner.

Go to Cardomain and put them there.

That's where my NXT'd Anthracite is sitting...

small pics but still does look pretty wet. dark color cars benefit the most when detailed. they look so much nicer than lighter colored cars. i have a SSM TL and althought the finish was smooth and shiny it did not look as wet as your NBP. but then again the trade off is that black show's swirls and is hard to keep clean.

My NBP showed horrible swirls, once I applied this they were gone, so I am extremelly happy.

Looks great! I use the NXT spray wax between waxing. It is easy to apply and does a great job.

#16 is Meguiars "Mirror Glaze" carnuba wax that many people are putting on top of NXT. I put 2 coats of NXT & have been waiting for decent weather (i.e. no rain in the forecast) to wash with the NXT wash & put a coat of #16 on.

i used the NXT was this weekend as well and it works nicely. lots and lots of suds and no filmy residue. i normally use Meguiars gold class but the nxt worked nicely as well. haven't yet used their booster spray for the NXT but it will help with some of the areas that tend to lose wax faster.

Are you guys putting the NXT on top of the "factory" wax? Or, are you doing a Dawn wash first to "strip" off the OEM wax?

Here is what I did:

1) Wash with Dawn
2) clay with Quick Clay system
3) re-wash car w/NXT car wash (removes hard water film)
4) apply NXT (2x, after the first coat as dry, apply a second coat while 1st is still on)
5) After a couple of days wash with NXT car wash
6) Apply top coat of #16

Steps 1-4 take less than an hour to complete

Steps 5 and 6 take less than 1/2 hour to complete

Have plenty of clean. dry towels and the job will go much faster

my factory wax has long been gone since i got the car. i drove through 2 snow storms and plenty of rain storms after that. the water was not beeding at all when i last washed it. i did not go th dawn route.

1)washed with NXT
2)claybar
3)NXT Wax

It took me a total of 2.5 hours for the whole thing(this includes the 20min wait time for the NXT to cure). i was very meticulous with the clay bar which took me an hour just by itself. roadman seems to be a fast detailer. i am very slow when it comes to these things but 2.5 hours for me is good already.

With the new (lead free) paint on cars now you should not remove wax in a circular motion by hand. Its OK to apply it that way but dont remove it. Use a back and forth motion.. This will minimize swirl marks and "spider webs". A detailer friend of mine told me this yrs ago and my black vehicles have never had a problem.

I currently have a can of Gold Class and was wondering if the NXT wax also dries white. I did a test portion of my NBP w/ clear bra and it leaves this god awful white line where the clear bra meets the surface of the car. I can get it off with some "in between waxes” spray but would rather avoid the whole white line issue all together.

I’m about to break down and buy some Zaino but would rather try out a good store bought brand of wax that I don’t have to worry about drying white and using on the rubber portions (like around the windows). What so you guys think of Zymol vs. NXT?

Having just used the NXT this passed weekend - I found it to be much better than my usual gold class...it is not that bright white when dry - I think the NXT is barely noticeable. Having made a mess over the years of the rubber around my wife's moonroof, I was extra careful not to get too close - but the NXT seems to be more forgiving. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. I cannot speak for the other stuff.

Thanks, I'll give the NXT a shot..... I'm not by any means a poor individual, but I am having a mental issue when thinking about paying $80 for Zaino. If I can find a cheaper alternative that I can go buy at many retail stores and is somewhat close in quality, then I'd rather go for that.

I bought it because my wife bitches about every little dime spent on my car so I had to respect her wishes....besides I got the car in 6MT so she was not too happy about that either!
