Picking up new'08 TL-S tonight
I am picking up my new 2008 TL-S tonight and looking forward to those little improvements over my current TL ( a little extra horsepower, some stiffer suspension and the contoured seats). Say Tuned for an update later in the week.
I'm trading in a '04 WDP 6MT/ with navi. The car only has a little over 40,000 miles and is a one owner, pristine, cream puff. Not a ding on it. If anyone is looking for a car like this call Devon Acura in Norwalk CT and ask for my salesman Dan. I just put Hawke front brake pads and new slotted rotters on the car along with new tires all around. It runs great and I hate to see it go.

The '08's don't hit the dealers until the 1st week of October.

IMO, the MY is the one thing a dealership just wouldn't mess with for any reason, it could cost them a fortune if they get caught.
OH, and to the OP...CONGRATS, and ENJOY your '08 TLS!!!!

Rosenthal Acura already has 3 on reserve sitting on their lot. Congrats dude! You're gonna LOVE the car. Make sure you have them PDI (full inspection) the car before you take delivery. Just my 2 cents.

And another ? is...why buy an 08 now (since nothing has changed) than get an 07 now with huge price breaks on it?

I would look at the vin and see what "number" of TL it is for 08

are there any differences b/w 07 and 08 TL-S?

There is at least one. The windshield wipers on the 08 are tucked under the hood and cannot be seen. On the 07's they are just like any other car.

Started by negotiating for a 2007 at Montclaire in New Jersey where I bought my '04 but locating a 6 speed MT is a lot more difficult than locating an Auto. It would have saved me about $2k. Considering that I'll get back about half ('07 vs '08) of that when I go to sell it and considering that soon my '04 will be considered a year older and valued less than the $21k they are giving me, the gap narrowed. And I was able to get it in my color combo, Carbon Bronze pearl w/ ebony-slvr interior. Short of a few more HP and stiffer shocks & springs in the 'S', my '04 - 6MT w/Navi already had the Brembos and the heavier sway bars. So why am I doin' this,,,,,, I guess ' You only live once'.
PS... Yes I could have got more in a private sale but now I'm saving on sales tax doing the trade so once again the gap narrows.

I made the same upgrade from the 2004 to the TLS about 3,000 miles ago. It takes some getting use to and gets more impressive after its broken in. Much tighter heaver steering, firmer ride, and gets faster and better milage after 2500 miles or so. Still have the brake-in oil and getting rid of that will improve things also.

I have car ADD
iTrader: (6)
the 08's are out. i checked it out today. same car. no differences i dont think..
the TL advanced sedan IS going to take over the TL for 2009 btw. with obviously more realistic options.. wheels, lights , etc.. they are looking at 400hp SH-AWD, but it may go down in power. the price is also going to increase greatly. over $40k

2008 in July!
With some skepicism I just pulled up the Acura website... sure enough, the TL tab says "2008."
Is this the first time Acura has played fast & loose with the traditional model year calendar?? It may be the same exact vehicle, but the 08 buyer will be in a significantly better resale position years from now compared to the poor guy who bought an "07" a few weeks ago!

Well I got the car last night- (Carbon Bronze Pearl 6 MT). It does feel tighter, but then again any new car would. I am experiencing a slightly stiffer suspension, which I was hoping for, and do like the way the front seats wrap around you. I upgraded from an '04 6MT (270hp) so a lot of the car seems the same (Brakes,, etc.) I thought that they made the shifter throw shorter but no such luck. I guess I may need to do a short shift kit if I want to achieve that. Pretty gloomy here in the northeast and it's due to rain for the next 5 days so I'm sorry but there are no pictures. Truthfully speaking there is no change at all from the '07 so if you've seen that then you've seen an '08.
For those of you who have asked,,,, the price was $37,600

Personally, I dont understand those that trade one 3rd gen TL on another...you get to see the same dashboard for years..could get something different for a change.

That is unlikely. Acura ALWAYS changes something from year to year. The year of the build is irrelevant. Manufacturers put out next year's car ahead of the calendar
quite frequently.
It is when the new features are built into the car, not the date of the build.
Hey.....CONGRATS on the '08. Please post pics if you can.

The 07 and 08 have no differences to them. Since the 09 model will be released there will not be any changes. 08 is the last yearbefore the next generation is released. www.acura.com clearly shows the 08 model.

What they've not done before -- to best of my knowledge -- is an early model-year introduction like this. If I'd bought a "2007" TL in May or June without getting a year-end close-out deal on it, I would not be happy.
How do you think I feel I bought my TL-S 3 months ago... did I get a deal I wish... lol

I trade my '05 6MT for an '07 AT NBP mainly because my clutch leg had developed some arthritis in the knee. BUT I was pleasantly surprised to find the two as different as night and day. Does not feel like the same car....much better
