Picking out my 1st TL

Hello guys and gals...

Looking to pick up my first TL. At first i was going to pick up an 05, then i quickly learned the 04-05 had possible transmission issues and that the 07-08 was a safer bet. Anything else to be considered? I plan on doing a 3x3 trans drain and fill w/ DW1 and the pressure switches as well right away.

Thanks for the guidance!

Or you could skip the transmission issue entirely and buy a 6MT model and put ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified MTF in it and call it a day.

Yeah, if you're looking for an auto then I'd go with an '07 or '08. There aren't a lot of problems with the 3rd gen other than the automatic transmissions. I'd just check for the normal car maintenance and condition stuff that you'd check with any used car. You may want to pay special attention to the dashboard, as it's prone to cracking. And there's a fair chance the Bluetooth module won't be functional. They had a very high failure rate in the 3G.

Check for timing belt and water pump, depending on the mileage.
