I doubt that they are implementing these laws because of people talking on the phone, it's more because of texting.
if talking on the phone is too big of a chore for you while driving an auto (which most north americans own) then you're just fucked in the head.

They are different wattages, so you do need to be careful... and then of course you have to worry about blowing the fuse in the car. I have a pretty small 80W unit that I use to charge my laptop. Never had any issues.

I like the idea of putting my phone on top of the center console arm rest. Have anyone done this?

Plug the charger in and put it in the compartment under the arm rest. If I put it in the cup holder there wouldn't be any room for my beer.

I usually switch it to vibrate, tuck it firmly against my yam bag and then use the bluetooth feature and call my own phone over and over again

Whoa my thread was brought back up from like a year ago.

Right now, I am looking for a little dock I can set my phone in.

Do you guys know how foolish you sound? People that do the responsible thing while driving are sissies? I hope you two do not injure someone because you were doing something SO stupid and... I guess we should all talk/text while driving so we're not judged...ha ha ha!!! OMG these statements were the funny parts. How about act like grown men and be responsible like I'd hope your parents raised you.

I hook my HTC EVO 4G on the charger and sit it in the cup holder. Blutooth is a great thing for me especially since both hands are being used at all times to drive.

Des,

I really don't use the bluetooth at all because everywhere I go is only 10-15 minutes away.

I always used my lower cup holder to hold my phone. I just recently purchased an item which hooks into one of your air vents as a small "pouch".

I really only bought it because it was on clearance and as a woman, I can't resist a sale! I typically am very minimalistic with my car (I don't even like hanging air fresheners!), but I think this is quite low key and is at a perfect position.

It looks quite large in this picture, but literally can only hold my phone (Droid Incredible; average size).
