Everyone that has lowering springs.. What type do you have? How much did you pay for your springs? Why did you go with that type of spring?

I went with Comptechs last week. Just posted pictures.
Went with them for the fact that the car is leased and Comptech is 100% supported and backed by Acura.
Paid $200 for springs, $200 for labor and $72 for an alignment.

Acura Dealer- Just told them to give be a deal since I bought the car there. They may have been a little excited themselves since it was the first one they had done. Who knows.

does anyone have any pics with comptech drop? I am in the same boat.
I would like a drop that leaves little to no space between tires and wheel well.
Is the 1" drop that Eibach has the same as comptech?
All info helps Tanx, Jon

I went with Goldline. I paid $160 for the springs and $100 install. I heard great things about them at clubrsx. com. They are actually set-up for the Honda Accord, but the TL and the '03 and up Accords share the same suspension set-up...so they fit and perform perfectly!

I paid $175 for my comptech springs at the dealer. I lowered it myself, and didn't feel like an alignment was needed.

White,
Do yourself and your tires a favor and get an alignment. By lowering the car you increased the negative camber and the toe in. This will wear your tires out prematurely.

When the dealer "ripped me off", I mean, did my springs, they checked alignment, and wasn1t needed. I even had the camber kit there, in case, but just had the dealer send it back to comptech.

Just for others' reference I will never again buy parts meant for another, lighter car, as I did with my CL-S. I bought two different sets of coilovers made for the '98-'02 Accord EX V6 platform and neither one, though they claimed compatiblility, was set up properly for the CL TypeS's different weight/distribution/etc and thus one was a bit too bouncy and the other would bottom out (hit the bump stops) too easily at any decent level of drop.

My opinion is to stay far, far away from any suspension that was made for another car even if it claims to fit and work on your car. Sure it will fit, but it won't be quite right in how it performs. It simply can't be. It might even feel okay in the beginning but over time the different weight and distribution of that weight will negatively effect the product.

That's my experience. Buy what is made specifically for your car.

I’ve talk to spring manufacturers and the springs are exactly the same. I wouldn’t have done this without doing the research. The first to do this, see http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65276 . I realize this happened to you, but there were others that had put the ’03 and up Accord V6 lowering springs on and they performed flawlessly.

I couldn’t be happier with these springs!!!

The Eibach springs for the '04 TL and the Accord V6 (3.0) are exactly the same...they are both model No. 4044.140 (Sportline). No difference at all!!!!

The Comptech springs for the '04 TL are model 110-155, this is the same for the '03 and up V6 Accord (110-155)

Nuff Said.
