Pedal Position Offset
Pedal Position Offset
2005 TL. I know I'm not the first one to complain about this, but the pedal offset makes it really difficult to find a comfortable seating position. What's comfortable for the brake pedal is not comfortable for the accelerator, and vice versa.
So, any tips on finding the 'sweet spot' with the seat/steering wheel combo to where it's comfortable for both pedals? I'm short (5'7"), so maybe that has something to do with it. With the steering wheel pulled all the way out and down, it's still a little too far away when the seat is pushed back enough to make the brake comfortable. But when I move closer to where the wheel and accelerator are comfortable, using the brake requires pulling my leg into my chest and contorting my ankle to where it gives me shin splints.
What are your tilt/seat/height/wheel settings for comfort? Ideally I'd like a way to reduce the pressure in the brake pedal so it sits further back. It can still be offset and maintain the same safety functionality, it just doesn't need to be so extreme. Just an extra half inch back would make a world of difference.

GatorDave, not to be insensitive to your specific problem, but I think you need to adapt.
I agree that seat position sucks. I have a 6mt, and its completely different animal trying to learn on this car.
however, after 3 years of owning this vehicle, I've adapted and changed the way I drive to fit the car.

I am 6'0" and have had to adjust a little (going on 3 months with my TL).
I found that I place my heel slightly to the left of the gas pedal and can V left (and right) and hit the brake (and gas) just fine.
I do not notice any more height on the brake vs the gas pedal (very minor if there is).
My seat is all the way down, front and back
