Unhappy Passenger Heated seats

Hi there,

My TL is having its first Toronto winter and I notice yesterday that the driver side heated seat works differently to the passenger side.

On my passenger side only the bottom part NOT the back rest heats up, but my driver side seat heats both.

Is this normal? I culdnt find anything int he manual.

Thanks

It is normal ... the passenger seat does not heat up the back because of the sensors for the passenger ...

Nope, the airbag goes off on the driver's side all the time cuz the engineers assumed there was someone driving the car and that the person was bigger than your average 9-year-old.

And it's not me, given that the manual is explicit on the issue.

Actually, on the '05's, the driver's side seat back does heat up. Page 104 of the '05 manual says, "Both front seats are equipped with seat heaters. The passenger seat only has heaters in the seat bottom because of the side airbag system."
