painted front grill...

Hey guys. how do you think the 04 tl would look if the front grill was painted the color as the car. My car is in the shop right and i was thinking about painting the grill. What do you think?

Since I don't see any connection here with Tires, Wheels, & Suspension, guess I'll move this to 3G

Didn't think I would, but I like it.

Just as a side note - your driveway is immaculate! I wish they did concrete driveways by me - mostly asphault. Concrete shows the car better. Nice pic.

Someone posted a pic of their car with a painted grill a few weeks ago, I think in the gallery. You'd have to search for it.

Personally, I don't care for it.

I have Anthracite Metallic, and I love the way the aluminum grill looks with it.
I think Acura did a really good job with this aspect of the car . . . I am not
going to mess with it!

I'd like to completely black out my grill. Looked great on my white 71 mustang back in high school. One day maybe..................

nice, i forgot whos it was. honestly i think that it looks amazing on black. when ever i see a dark tl from a distance, the grille is too contrasting and bright. i was always wondering about the color match. i dont have a TL yet im waiting for a signing bonus(recent grad) but im gonna get an 05 aspec. are you goin to/ know anyone who color matched the rear chrome accent on the trunk? also can you post good close ups when u get a moment
thanks

OK, to satisfy everyone's curiousity I did every mod to the grill I could think of; paint -wise. The top center picture is the original un-modified TL the four below are different levels of grill mods.

Hope this helps.

OK, shotcaller88 wanted to see what an '04 TL might look like with a mesh grill.

This is the best I can do but I hope it lends some insight as to exactly what this mod might look like.

Thanks for the pic imax.
I wish someone would make a grill with mesh like that, but with a thin painted perimeter.

Makes it looks like a Mazda 6...or an older Integra I think the grill/emblem front makes the front end with the nice looking headlight structure.. leave it alone...

i duno i kinda like it...i might do that sometime. the problem i see is if you are close to the car will it looke like the same color, since its painted on that plastic stuff the grill is made out of. in other words, will it stick out really badly or will it blend in with the rest of the car? i like the idea of blacking it out entirely, i ave a NBP w/ aspec and i thnk it wuld look really good.

I like the TL grill when compared to stock grills of other cars such as a maximas, altimas, and camrys. However, I prefer a custom look that not everyone has. A custom grill is often a simple mod that can greatly improve a car's looks.
I love the way this grill looks on the caddy and wish I could steal the look (with painted trim instad of chrome). hope this pic works, i'm at the office and can't upload to my host from here.

You won't find that anywhere, yet. That's just the concept.

I personally like the aluminum/whatevermetalitis grille on the TL!. It's not shiny, but rather like a satin finish! Really classy, chrome is kindof getting old. I'm glad they're using new metal finishing techniques!

Nice job imax, I am getting the bumper cover repainted next week on my white diamond pearl and was thinking about painting the lower 2 air intakes to match...

I figure the black looks good with the black grills, maybe the white will look good with white? (of silver with silver, etc) Can I bother you for a pic with the lower grill color matched? Using the silver car will be fine.

How about everyone else... What do y'all think of color match lower grills? I have 10 days to decide!
