i didn't. you can't tell the difference what so ever... at least on my CGP. but, you can do it the same way you do everything else using a needle or whatever you prefer

If the toothpick doesn't fit in the middle on the top there, get a needle but dull the point first with a fine metal file before going at it.

You think plastidip will work with my front grill without chipping issues? I just want to referbish the smooth black portion of the grill so it looks new again.

Can we find PlastiDip at a local auto parts store? Or does it need to be ordered online.

Didn't realize how well the plasti dip would work as far as peeling if off. That's pretty cool.

Your friend is...umm...."boom"..."like I did to your momma".

I don't understand why you held the camera the guy with very little spray painting experience did the painting.

Overall, awesome...nice to know this is an easy way of putting it on and cleanup is EASY!

^ my guess is that he wanted to show that anyone could do it!!! If it was messed up, just peel it off and redo. Though he did seem to paint pretty heavy on there, I'm surprised that it didn't create paint runs. I guess its because of the properties of the material

I used the plasti dip on my grille a few days ago. I did about 4 coats and let each coat dry for 3 min. I did not even tape off anything and did not remove the grille. It came out perfect and it looks really nice. I might use this stuff on my rims in the summer.

I'd like to know your process of cleaning the overspray if you didn't tape off anything???

Of course it peels off clean, but I'm sure there was plasti dip overspray somewhere...

Nice DIY. IMO, it'd be incredibly easy and cleaner to take the emblem off with fishing wire to paint it. Regardless, looks nice.

Yeah IMO It makes one hell of a difference and looks good. You should do it and if you dont like it you can always rub it off Thats the best part.

Im Also Voting Its easy and Simple. I didn't do 6-7 coats only did like 3-4. First one was light and the other two-three were heavy. 15 minutes in between coats and 30minutes to 1 hour on the last coat. Then take off the masking paper and over-spray in between the letters with a Needle. I found that tooth picks break to easy. I used a fine point needle and it worked better since it didn't break. I recommend letting it set for a good day before washing the car or anything. so yea Go For It...

Dude, I really like the black badging. But if I do it, I really need to change out the tails as well. I need to stop getting bored and quit modding. Tonight I just got my Progress Rear Sway bar installed and the LED bulbs for the license plates.

I liked the way it looked with a solid background but > than 15 ft. away it looked like a black circle. Stuff was easy to use. I did get overspray on parts that weren't masked off, but it was effortless to wipeoff. Also you don't need 5-6 coats.
