Paint softener

I did a search on this and found nothing. There have been a number of threads on paint problems with WDP bumpers not matching the body color and I have this issue also. I called the dealer (Scottsdale Acura)and asked about the problem and the service adviser told me they knew about it, all Acuras have this issue and its because the paint on the bumpers have PAINT SOFTENER in it which changes the color and no they can't do anything about it. Its just more obvious on WDP. Strange, I had a 2002 TLs with WDP and the paint was fine. Has anyone heard of this?

All of the '04s have this problem. I also had an '02 WDP and the color matched perfectly.

It's not just the white cars although white and silver are the most obvious all new TLs have it to some extent. The answer to you is standard BS, Acura and their dealers treat us as if we never owned a car before. Check some other threads because there's been a lot of discussion about this. Whatever you do, don't let them blow you off. Acura won't fix this quality control problem if it doesn't cost them anything not to.
