To paint or not to paint....

So I bought my '05 MT NBP back in Nov of 2004 and not until last year I built a garage to keep from becoming old looking. My dilemma is that with the years it has become scratched and well I'm planning on keeping it since it's already paid off.
I keep it clean and try to park as far away as the day I bought it but there is allways that as..hole that has to park next to you and ding your doors.......it has 33k and the interior is immaculate...so should I spend the $$$ to get it totally repainted??...what's your thought?...thanks

Isn't that the point? He cares and wants it to look good for himself, not for others...

I wouldn't repaint it as it is going to run you quite a few thousand. I would try and have it professionally detailed if you can. Unfortuantely, NHB shows all scratches more than any other color but I'm sure you can get it clean again if you find a professional. Good luck

I beg to differ... I'm not out to impress other people. I like my car clean and in good order. To each his own I guess, you clearly want to impress people which I think is shallow but like I said, to each his own.

I wouldn't repaint it. I would try the rotary and a heavy cut pad/compund first.

If he is the only person on the planet, how can you be there to see him do it?

Im getting my hood, front bumper, side fenders, both mirrors for a NBP. THe guy there said it would be in my best interest to paint due to some deep scatches that will eventually rust. So if you have some deep scratches get that painted.

I started this thread only to see if "you" would spend the money as we all have a vehicle that IMHO has or is still a good looking vehicle and mostly a "keeper"...I see the threads on the '08's and now the '09's and again IMHO (in my humble opinion) make me want to keep my TL as I have "moded it to fit me" ....
If I would have had a garage since day one I wouldn't be looking for advise ...here in New England the acid rain and the many snow storms that made me have to use a "snow" brush on the roof, hood and trunk to clear the snow before I went to work has taken a toll on the paint...I will take some pics before I wet sand it and after to see what you think....
On a post note, I'm not one to impress anyone else as ppl think my car is flawless when they see it and compliment me as is. Yes I'm peculiar and that's why I'm a p/t detailer....but for those uf us who have a TL and know that for the $$'s spent we have a vehicle that it's far from "a beater" and personally want to keep the TL as new as the day I bought it.....anal maybe but...why not??..
