How much does it cost for decent paint job

Cost me 6k for mine. Painting my ASM TL-S to Starfire Pearl, it's being worked on and will be done soon

 

bare minimum should be 4-5k on a paint job

 

5 grand easily ... what color you thinking of painting ur car? if you stick to the current color, it may cost you less and they wont have to paint the engine bay and door jams.

 

If your charged less then 5k its a crap paint job... For a large car like the TL i would say more like 6k to get a good one.

 

Getting it done by someone you know really well = a lot cheaper.

1 coat clear $800
2 coats clear $1000
3-step clear $1400
Completely different color with 2-3 clear(door jambs and other things) - $1600-2000

Exotic colors - $2500

 

Yay like Maaco.... they painted my 91 civic 293K miles for 250 bucks..... much better than a spray can...

 

i payed around 3.5k and they did a great job.

For a total repaint, a lot. The door jambs, engine compartment and many other things need to be prepped and repainted. All exterior trim should be removed, etc.

For a high qualilty job, probably $6k is about the minimum, and it could easily go up to $10k depending on the paint used, and how much finish work is done.

 

Hell No, I got I painted by a local independently owned body shop. I knew the former owner so he gave me a deal.

 

My 01 MDX got keyed and all the windows broken (Stupid woman (Sorry to an women on here)) and i did a full color change. that jambs under hood and car stripped to nothing but a drivers seat (engine/sus still on vehicle). This took me 7 days with 4-5 hours of sleep every night. I hand blocked all panels and took all dents out of the vehicle. once compete I wet sanded all panels and buffed. in material alone i had about 2500.00 The do the math for all the labor that was into it. 6k is what i would charge to do this for a customer or around 3500.00 for a friend... its not even close to as easy as everyone thinks. Ill get some pics posted of it!

 

I got mine for free..its awesome when you can do it yourself..lol

But for a good paint job it would be 5k. It depends
