Over Spray On my TL/Warranty coverage
Quick question-
The dealer painted my bumper a few months back, about 2 months ago i took it to Ahmad to have the door buffed. His guy goes this car has over spray, I say What the hell is that....
The car is not smooth anymore.... apparently Acura dealer dint cover the car well when paiting the bumper....
Can i take it back and have them buff it under my warranty?

Buffing isn't the solution to overspray ... clay barring is ..
Once the dealer is done buffing go wash your car then go look to see if it full of swirls and holograms. The dealers shop usually uses a rotary buffer and this will induce holograms. Then they go over it with a glaze which hides them until after the first wash or so then they wash out .. revealing the holograms.
By then the shop blames you for making them .. or you think you did and don't go back.
This is an example of dealer induced holograms .. a little exaggerated but you get the idea .. took about 10 hours to correct it.

over spray is usually wet sanded n compounded if its too much or just compounded right off. clay bar wouldnt help with that. I tried it last week on the rear bumper i have a lil tiny patch of over spray. i just pulled the compound out n rubbed til it was gone but if acura is doing it let them do it its nto ur problem.

I'm refering to light overspray where there is minute misting .. not overspray = where you stopped painting. Or where blending is done ..

Your choise .... wetsanding is definatly out in my books .. removing too much clear for no reason.
So i brought it to the dealer.. and they try telling me that it was from the rain, but that they will still detail it for me. I also had the switch for my mirrors busted so they are replacing that, tire rotation and rebalancing. O and they are also detailing my interior. All under warranty
