Love my leather
Our Leather is perfect but it's great, alot better than what's in those pictures. I love how our leather is soo soft and supple and any of the complaints we have about our leather probably only stems from having soft leather. :P

Better than GM SUV seats. The thigh bolsters are so weak that my '97 Tahoe's driver's side left thigh support was cracked and rippled in a matter of a couple of years. My dad's XLD is doing the same thing in the same spot, with 10k miles.
This is why I FREAK when people sit on the thigh bolsters in my car.

On my 03.5 G35S the leather was peeling off the base of the driver's seat in the front. When I ran my fingers along the bottom crease I found that not only was the leather coming off, but the staples which held the leather in place were protruding. I actually cut my finger on the staples. Cheap cheap cheap

Maybe now everyone will quit whining about wrinkles and butt prints and just get on with driving. :jump2:

I agree. Can we stop bitching about the buttprints in our car now?
Those are some hella messed up seats.

Speaking of butt prints...are dealers doing anything about this? I am going in on Monday for Door alignment, Headliner etc...will they even care about butt prints? Whats the fix - new seat? Are new TL's showing prints too?

Rememeber the softer the seat, the more chance of it tearing or having problems. The TL has a greater chance of this. People complained on butt imprints.....

At near $50K, that kind of deterioration with so few miles is inexcusable. I know you guys hate European cars, but you don't see leather issues like you see with Nissan/Infiniti and Honda/Acura. Of the Japanese brands, Toyota/Lexus does seem to get it right though. If it's not the leather itself, it has to be the design of the bolsters which would appear not to be resilient enough. Sucks either way.

Speaking of wrinkles. Is there some way to prevent them? Use some type of product?

Leather wrinkles......get over it!!
I can't believe people are complaining of wrinkles and small butt prints in the leather. If it were as bad as the one in the picture, yeah..that's bad..but from what I've seen of the TL's wrinkles, it's just normal for leather to stretch like that. If you want a seat with no wrinkles, get vinyl.

I heard they do that so that they can use the same drivers seats in the US that they use in Japan...Of course, over there, right-hand-drive means those controls are where they should be...between the seat and the door. But here they only get in the way. If that's true, it's not just cheap, but incredibly lazy, IMO.
