Mario: Great choice of oil. I recommend that oil to the people on the TSX forum. It sold as Castrol Syntec 0w-30 (Made In Germany) over here in the US.

Starting in the M05 batch, the color of this oil changed from green to gold. What color was the SLX 0w-30 that you installed???

Nevertheless, great oil. We're such freaks about this stuff on Bobistheoilguy.com (BITOG) that we have a forum devoted just for this oil, German Castrol (GC). Unfortunately, its just too thick for my tastes at 12.2-12.3 cst, borderline 30wt/40wt.

I followed Michael Wan's advice and had my first oil change at 3105 with 50% on the MID. He recommended doing the oil change every ~3000 until 9000 miles due to high wear metals in Honda engines. It's cheap insurance.

Oh also due to the same reason of the wear metals I intend to follow his recommendation to change my MTF along with the next oil change this week.

Parker,
Are you going to use the new Amsoil MTF, less expensive than GMSFM and is a higher quality replacement fluid for it.

Hi Michael.

I may be doing just that. I wanted to use GM Synchromesh Friction-Modified after all the smooth-shifting stories from others on the S2K forum and what RoadRage wrote. But I've called several GM dealers (all brands) and not a single one has in stock, just the normal Synchromesh! Apparently GMSFM is is a special-order item at ~12 per quart.

PM me about how you found Amsoil MTF to be a higher quality than GMSFM. Also, is there just one Amsoil MTF? If they have different formulations, which do you recommend?

Parker,
The Amsoil MTF is supposedly a full syn MT lube opposed to the blend that the GMSFM is.

In addition, its easier to obtain at a lower price.
