Origin of parts in our TL

We know our TL is built in Ohio. I heard tranny and engine possibly comes from Japan. Does anyone have details of where each part comes from.

Most parts are probably japanese, however I am sure there is stuff from most major european countries in the car along with Canada and Mexico. Even the most american vehicle(F series) still outsources 4% of the parts.

The window sticker will show a coarse percentage of where the content is from.

Engines are made in Marysville and so are the automatics. The 6 speed MT is sourced from Japan.

Most Japanese manufactures source larger parts very close to their assembly plants to support their JIT (Just in time) manufacturing operations. The supplier may be domestic or a transplanted foreign supplier but located within the US borders.

If you look at the parts, they will have some sort of marking as to their point of origin.
