I recently bought a salvage 07 Type S with 120k miles from the auction. The front is pretty damaged, everything else about the car is in still really good condition. The radiator and everything insider the engine is fine. For 2700 I thought, why not?
So the question about getting the hood and front bumper replaced. What would be the best way to buy the OEM parts and also have it painted? Would it be better to just look around for parts that's already the same color or just buy something online and have it painted locally? Is there anyway to send the part directly to a shop online and have them paint it? Do you guys think OEM parts are the way to go or should I keep it aftermarket? I'll assume the grill doesn't come with the bumper either. This will be my somewhat project car that I'll put a bunch of miles on until I get my Tesla Model 3.
Sorry for all the random dumb questions, it's really my first time doing something like this. Thanks in advance!

You'll have to shop around. No way for us to tell you what the prices are locally to the salvage yards and body shops over the internet. OEM is the way to go.
To save some money, I would check some local classifieds. You might luck out and get parts you are looking for. But if time is a factor, I would suggest getting quotes from local shops. Also with 120K miles, you might have want to do the timing belt and water pump, along with other maintanence and repairs
Also to note, with that much damage to the bumper and hood, there is probably more damage hiding under the covers. If you want the "least" amount of work, search the salvage yards for parts that are already the correct color. And a good call from the other posters on checking into the Timing Belt service. If you can't confirm it has already been done....do it.
Damn that's a fair price for the car if nothing else is broken. I recently had to replace my front bumper due to a deer incident and it cost me $430 total. Bought the bumper on eBay for $178 and had it painted and put on by a local shop for $250.
You might have have to buy new bumper bracket because it's probably bent in. The guy was able to pull mine out and work for now.
Where did you get it for that cheap? I can't find anything on eBay for under 200$. I actually can't find anything online for around 200$. Lucky I found out I have an uncle that owns a paint shop, so I can probably get a discount on the that.

sorry I have 04 TL not type s. $200 isn't bad for type s
Think you'll find more damage than expected, probably radiator support will need work etc. Don't believe they would total a '07 TLS for just a hood and bumper/grille repair.
RockAuto has 1 TLS cover $199, and also hood $138, but shipping is a killer.
Use 6180929615713113 5% discount on parts.
My guess is theres hidden damage or you got lucky and people were sleeping during the auction.
I just saw color of your car, WDP, which happens to be one of the harder colors to paint match. Others may disagree but you'd be hard pressed to find parts in salvage that will match.
Good luck. Hope you ended up with a bargain!
