Ok so I know most of you guys wince when you see a thread with "LED" in the title but I have sifted through all the relevant threads and have not found my answer.

I saw that a few members on here have HIDs in their reverse lights (not license plate lights, the lights that turn on when you throw it in reverse) and Im not interested in that kind of mod. I would like to throw in a pair of LEDs into the reverse light housing. I dont want them to be as bright as the HIDs but an upgrade in light output is a must.

Have any of you guys done that and if so, what bulbs and how does it look? (i.e pictures would be nice)

 

Everybody and their brother has put LED's in the reverse lights. Not sure what the current popular bulb is - something "super white" or "bright white" I'm sure.

I just put in the JLC led's in my reverse lights last week. Much brighter than stock but not as bright as some of the pics on here make them look. Kind of pricey though at $44 shipped. Here's the thread with pics. I'm satisfied with the purchase despite the price. It was nice having a direct replacement without the install hassles of the HID's. That being said, if I already had a separate power line coming into my trunk for an amp or something I'd have gone ahead and done the HID's for the extra brightness to cut through my rear tint.
