And once again she falls...

The funniest thing happened to me. I was eating dinner with my dad (he lives out of the country and was visiting) at a restuarant and this guy comes into the restuarant and says "is that your TL outside?" and we answer yes, and he says, i'll wait till you finish eating to ask you some questions. ANd i thought to myself, wow, this car turns some heads... hahaha to make it short cuz i hate long posts myself, the guy turns out to own one. He had purchased his in december and told me that his headliner has fallen 3 times, everytime getting it fixed. He then told me he had hired a lawyer because he was getting tired of it and looked up the lemon law. If the warranty problem isnt fixed within 3 visits to the dealer, the car can be replaced or something like that. Don't konw the specifics but thats what he had said.

So after he told me about his problem, i told him that mine was falling and i got it fixed. Its fine now. Then he says No its not... look again. hahahaha So now this will be my second visit. Once again they had used a lil double sided tape to hold up my roof lining. I hope they are smart this time and use something else.

The guy that came up to me even gave me his business card and turns out to own a BBQ restuarant. I was angry the first time this happened, but now its kinda entertaining as i am meeting new people, who are all TL enthusiasts and great people. Of course the headliner falling is definitely a burn... :tflamer:

I know the lemon law varies in different states, but I looked up the booklet for Florida's lemon law.

It states "it must substantially impair the use, value or safety of the vehicle".
Makes me wonder if headliners or crappy tires qualify. I guess it would be up to the arbitration board to determine.

We are required to inform the BBB with these problems, so at least they would get to know what is going on with Acura.

Question

I really miss this part now. When talking about this headliners fallen issue, where/what is it you guys exactly talking about?

Thanks. Some pics could help...

Where the headliner meets up with the rear of the sunroof, there is a metal strip running parallel to the sunroof. The headliner is stuck on to this metal strip with 2 or 3 blocks which are glued to the headliner and then stuck on the metal strip.

I never thought to see if I had this problem but I kept reading about it so much here in the forum, so last night I got in the car and checked it out.

Mine has separated from the metal strip, but it is still very close to it, and is not really hanging down. The headliner material is stiff enough so it doesn't look like it will sag, and the slight gap is not noticeable unless you are looking for it because you can't see it unless you look to the rear of the car directly at it, and who does that.

I am going to leave it alone for now. The warranty is long enough and it looks good so why take a chance on someone screwing it up and causing several trips to get it fixed right.
