Onboard computer question

Does the onboard computer keep a record of when the oil change life indicator is reset? I changed my oil, reset the life indicator, but didnt write down the mileage. My extended warranty co. will need the mileage info if I ever have to file a claim. Will I have to guess or can the dealership hook up something to the car and find out for me?

Thanks!

Unfortunately you will have to guess. The MID is very complex and calculates oil life by how hard the engine is being driven, idling, etc.. it factors all of this, as oppose to mileage. You can figure about 5000-6000 miles between changes, IIRC.

My post is kinda jumbled but hope it helps
