okay just back from a spin.....

....a little faster this time.....boy this car makes its bread and butter between 80 and 110 mph........did this several times :diablotin ......and it is just amazing how fast the headlights behind disappear :lol2: .............Once I did this acceleration through a long bend.......she seemed to float a bit especially when hitting dips....I guess this is where the bmw would come in. But all in all very stable between those ranges!

Then we hit town again and turned up the stereo to 35-40.......this is where Bmw gets left behind I guess. Cant say enough about the stereo the sound is just amazing.

Anyways it was a fun 3 hour cruise in and ouside the city.....acceleratin and deceleratin.......and I still didn't want to get out...but now its off to bed

Your observations as to 80-110 also apply to BMW. I have a 540i and it really comes into its own at about the 80mph range. The down side is the absence of low end torque that the Corvette has in spades. Neither Acura nor BMW have that neck snapping feeling Corvette has. The dip problem is a common complaint with the Acura and I notice it every day going to work. The Acura suspension doesn't dampen the bumps as well as it should. I expect that to be corrected on next years version. I also hope they work on the torque steering problem. Fix those and the TL will be almost a perfect car.

the car floats a bit but you expect that for a 3500lb 4 door sedan. i'm actually glad it does i could not stand that sport suspension on my bmw anymore. felt like i was going to get hemroids everyday driving to work.

Sorry, you lost me when you compared a 4-door sport/near luxury sedan to a Corvette... Does anyone truly expect the TL to have the same low-end grunt of a Vette?? If so, they are truly living in a fantasy land. Compare apples to apples and not apples to pumpkins.

I think he was trying to establish a scale, sort of. That said, the new TL auto doesnt have any of the neck snapping of my 2002 Maxima. But, its a sweet ride nonetheless.
