Oil life and MID question ?
so i've been reading quite a few posts and have some questions ... is there a way to set the oil life to a particular mileage ie. 5000 miles 7000 miles etc. ? just curious b/c i will be running amsoil and their filter as well and there is no need to do the oil change every 3000 or 4000 miles ....i searched and couldnt find any answers. also what is the recommended intervals mileage and time for the TL ?
thank you

have you read the owner book yet? anything you can adjust is listed in there
just reset it when it hits 7500
just reset it when it hits 7500

I wonder if anyone knows what factors the MID takes into account.

Mine has ranged from 9,000 miles with 100% freeway driving to barely 4,000 with pure short trip city driving in the winter.
If you're using a pure quality synthetic like some of the Amsoil products, SSO and ACD come to mind, it's safe to reset the MID and change the oil every other time it comes on, if you're into the extended interval thing. I personally won't do it because I like to dump the contaminate load at 5,000 miles.

I've had my 08 T.L. for just ten months, and put on about 9,000 miles. I use the mid, -along with miles, and time when it comes to changes.
Only full - synthetic, and my rule of thumb is, when the mid hits 20%, 5,000 miles, or 6 months, whichever comes first.
So far they all seem to hit at about the same time.
