Oil change timing
I have been using Mobil 1 in my 2006 TL. The A1 service light usually comes on around 5K miles, but the oil is supposed to last longer than that. Should I change my oil as indicated or can I wait longer and change around 7500 miles?

In MY opinion: Oil changes are cheap insurance. I would never let any car I own go over 5000 miles on engine oil. As a matter of fact, I usually change mine around 3500-3800 miles. Using synthetic oil is good but it's not the oil that wears out. It's the additives in the oil that wear out. For example, the Anti Foam additive will wear out before the actual oil does.
