What exactly do you think happens to the oil in 2,000 miles that makes your car run differently? It is in your head. You would be better off seeing a shrink than changing your oil that often.
Most people can't tell the difference in how the car runs between a 0-20 and a 10-30 weight much less the same grade with a couple miles on it.
The motor turns over 2 revs before starting. When you change your oil filter, it still has to fill up the filter before it gets pressure. Watch how much longer the oil pressure light stays on when you install a new filter. That's a dry start and a couple revs before the engine fires makes no difference.
I'm very old school when it comes to changes. I get laughed at for changing a premium synthetic oil at 5K but there comes a point when you're doing more damage than good.

Here is some reading to ponder.....
Longevity tests on Mobil 1 and a LS1 car (Camaro Z28)
Phase I http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/s.../oil-life.html
Phase II http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/mobil1.html - 18,000K miles, no oil changes, only top off and a single filter change.
Interesting what they found..... as the oil aged the wear and tear decreased on the engine...... they predicted an 8k oil life, but went all the way to 18k.
