Oil change question....
My salesman told me that I shouldn't waste money changing my oil earlier than when my indicators tells me to because supposedly the oil tank has special sensors built in that constantly check the consistentsy of the oil and can detect when the oil needs to be changed and therefore, my indicator light will come on. This will be between 6K to 8K miles. Can someone confirm this or give me some input please?

The manual pretty much says the same thing. Don't listen to a dealer that tells you that you need it before the car tells you to.
In fact, if the car is brand new, the oil has special additives that help break in the engine (I read that somewhere on this forum). You definitely want to leave that in longer.
3,000 miles or 3 months is no longer the rule for oil changes. The sensor will tell you when you need it based on your specific driving habits.
