Offical Switchblade Key cutters

Acutally you can, the remote (buttons are held on by 1 screw. After removing it the remote will pop up leaving you with the key, backing (mem 1/2) chrome button and the little cover around it. Then with a little brute force, pry up on the little cover around the chrome and it should slowly come up, its held on by 1 tab and double sided tape. Under that will be 3 screws with an ungodly amount of locktite. You can spend abut 3 minutes stripping them and then cursing, or just leave it all there without the remote.
The cutter should be able to fit the key and little backing into the machine, he must align them using the shoulders.

Yeah, I have an 05 TL and I missed your group buy by one week. I got an '07-'08 key from an Acura dealer on ebay and was going to take it to a locksmith to have it milled and cut. From there, take it to the dealer to have it programmed.

AJ, I just got my key cut and programed. I took it to Atlast Locksmith (501 W 167ST NY,NY).
The guy that cut and programed my key was Jose...Good Guy. He had to file down the key a little to make it fit but, overall he made it work. It took about 15 minutes to complete the job. Oh yea, he charged me $60...its a lot better than going to the dealer.
Jose was telling me that a couple of guys came in recently to get their keys done. I wonder if any of those guys are from this forum.
Anyway... thanks again AJ for the great work

edit: nvm I just see the thread. I dont check TL sections often. my bad.
