An Offer I can't refuse?

Well, I own a 2006 RSX base model, Auto. I received a mail today from one of the Acura dealerships here in Town offering $0 down, $299 a month for an 08 TL Type-S and a free 45" Plasma Television if I would trade in my RSX. I called the dealership and they verified this is indeed the offer. Has anyone ever received an offer like this from a dealership? is this a trade I should give some thought to? Would you do it? is the TL worth this kind of trade knowing the interest I might have to deal with?

holy sh*t!!!!! that's a hell of an offer.

Because they discontinued the RSX, maybe the price as gone up? It will be in demand much more, but the supply isn't there, simple microecon theory. They want your car because it is valuable.

Would I do it? YES lol.

Is that a lease price or purchase?

If lease, I'd like to see more details (residual, selling price, term, mileage).

If purchase (60 month or less) --> Take a day off and proceed directly to the dealership.

um. do you own the RSX ? because trading it in, towards a lease , would be dumb. in 3 years you'll have a 45" TV, and no car....

I'm a skeptic, sorry. There maybe a catch. Like everyone recommends, take a ride to the dealership, and the try to put the #s on paper.

Good luck. 2006 RSX is nice car though

If you're currently leasing the RSX, you should definetely look into it. If you own the RSX, it would be like putting a $15k down payment on a lease (deal sounds like a lease to me).

Keep us posted.

There is no free lunch (tv) You'll be paying for it in a worse deal than you could get otherwise. They will just obscure it well. Only bother if you both want the TV and car. Otherwise dont be fooled into thinking you'll be getting the TV free. The only "free" deals are the promotions from Acura corporate.

Heh, if the $299 is the purchase price this must be a 15 year loan. If it's a lease then you're probably getting 500 miles a year. It's a common bait tactic to get you in the door.

purchase of tl w/loan = yes
lease = no.

that would be a bad offer if it was a lease of the car.

I go the exact same offer from Vandergriff Acura in Arlington,Tx....but it was for a base model and a 42" Plasma haha....you're getting a better deal lol

BTW I own a '03 CL type S 6spd........but if you read the fine print on the letter it states that its some bs vehicle acquisition program and that can receive up to 90% of the original MSRP based on N.A.D.A. value , less $0.52 per miles driven and any reconditioning.....so if thats the case and I have 70k on my car I'll be in the negatives and paying them more money, so yea I'd say bullshit, but I'm waiting on the dealer to call back so I can give them the 3rd degree
