OEM exhaust *56K warning*

Is the rust normal? Can you check to see if yours is like this also?

What is the little round metal pieces around the exhaust?

Some corrosion is normal yes... All depends where you drive your car, etc... roda conditions, salt used and on and on.

We have the same problem and post the same question...

Maybe you could use some WD-40 to rinse them... it works great for me and they stay clean for months.

Keep in mine 56,000 is over 3 years of driving... if you got the time and the patience... clean that area off and repaint with rustoleum. I did that on my car as well around 67,000 miles.

A better solution is to clean, then shoot some similar colored Rustoleum on the parts that bother you - the resonator looks like flat black would do it, the tailpipe silver.
