OEM 18"s with GoodYear F1's-Help
Anyone with this setup I need some assistance. I just installed mine yesterday putting around 100 miles on them since. What pressures are you running at? Currently, I’m running 39 front 36 rear. The car feels very bizarre. It feels like it wants to track by itself if that makes sense. I went with 245/40 and it doesn’t feel very sticky to the road. Hopefully someone has good experience with these.

jobes,
Just wanna chime in to tell you that you are "tramlining". This phenomenon occurs more often with wider width tires and especially with summer tires which have continuous tread patterns. The increased width and specific tread will made the tire want to follow irregularities on the road. They are find on smooth surfaces though. There is really nothing much that can be done except to go to a different patttern and/or less tire width which is not always a choice. I had this problem when I upgraded my 97 Camry from Dunlop all season SP Sport 5000s to the Yokohama ES100s (205s to 225s) and there was marked tramlining on all irregular surfaces. I just got used to hit and gripped the wheel tighter at times.

I'm running 39/32. Same 245/40/18 with 6" wheels. They do tramline a little but they stick like glue. try going around corners at speed and you'll find out exactly how ell these tires stick to the ground.

I am running a different tire - 245/40/18 Pirelli's. Tires were installed and initial pressure was 34 all around. This setup performed well, but I wanted to go to the recommended pressures - 39/36. I was unhappy with the change in steering response - not as tight or responsive and more 'tramlining' type responses. I went back to 35/32 today and am happier at those pressures - the ill effects seen at 39/36 are gone. Different tires but you could be seeing a similar response. It's worth a shot. It costs nothing to play with tire pressures.
One afternoon when I have some time I'll try a few different setups in a row, including equal front and rear pressures. I'm not clear on the benefits of different front and rear pressures and I'd like to see if I can feel a difference.

Is that true that the 245/40/18 tires always have trambling problem on 18" OEM? Have anyone have Toyo Proxes T-S1 245/40/18? Do you have trambling problem on Proxes as well?
I am planning to buy either F1 or Proxes 245/40/18 for OEM 18", but after reading these I'm not sure if I should go back to the OEM spec 235/40/18? Help!!!

I have 255/40/18's on the A-spec wheels with Bridgestone Pole Position S0-3's with no tramline effect. Tires have a larger effect on tramline than wheels. The V tread of the Goodyear F1 and others like the Yokohama AVS Sports seem to have more tramline tendencies. I run 36psi rear and 39psi Front like recommended.

I went with all-season tires specifically b/c I need to drive this TL in the winter, and also b/c I wanted to avoid any tramlining effects.
