OCD and Irrational Car Worry
Hello,
Been a long while since I've been here.
I had a pearl blue 2004 TL and now have a new lease, a dark gray (charcoal?) 2007 TL.
I was wondering if any fellow TL owners suffer from OCD/irrational worry about their car. Hell, mine is only a lease but I still have problems when I park it in public lots. I find myself always trying to find the end spot (sometimes getting too close to the curb and scraping my wheels! ouch!) I also find that the lock "beep" is not loud enough and I find myself constantly re-locking! I also have a fear of leaving my window open before a big rainstorm...

Do I suffer from OCD/irrational worry about my car? Not at all!! That's why I kept my 1997 Camry with 160,000+ miles and use that as my commuter car (65+ miles per day). That way, I can keep my 07 TL-S safe in the garage, where it won't get dirty, scratched, dented, or worse!!
Don't get me wrong, I do use the car. I need something to clean an wax every weekend.

Here's a quick funny story...
Back in 2004 my TL had some serious trouble and was in the shop for a month (documented in the archives of this forum). Anyway, they gave me an older model TL as a loaner. The night before I went to finally get my car back it poured rain, and when I went to get in the loaner I found the passenger window all the way down and the inside of the car soaked. Seems that the older TLs don't have auto-up on the passenger side!

I readily admit that I have OCD when it comes to my cars. You need to be far above the crowd if you want your car to get noticed. Dusting, polishing, cleaning, taking second and third looks, etc. is actually therapeutic for me.

If Im in my Accord, Im really bad about parking anywhere ! I'm mainly driving it if i'm in it... I'll take up 2 spots if I do park it anywhere. ha & always try to snag an end spot. Damn paint costs tooo much..
Im not that bad in my TL , I dont park in backwards cause ppl can open their doors on my quarter panels, but I'm very anal about my wheels, so I dunno about curbing them in any way .. I do yes, pull VERY close to the curb, but I will Ace Ventura that shit & hang my head out my window OR tell the person next to me to do it on their side, before I would ever curb my wheels .. I dont care if they are stock or 4000 bux , Im not curbing them ha . I'd slap the shit outta myself, then take it off & go have it fixed ..
