Question o4 TL trunk tray

At my wife's urging, I purchased a trunk tray for her 04 TL. The tray fits in all respects except the extreme right portion of the trunk where it doesn't meet the inside right rear panel (near the right rear side marker). It misses by 5 inches. Do I have an 04 trunk tray and it just fits this way or do I have some other year or series tray. I bought from the Acura dealer and it has "TL" stamped on the surface.

If anyone has a trunk tray for a 04 TL, I would appreciate your input

My guess is that they made one tray to fit both the nav and non-nav TL -- on the nav models, the DVD-player rests in that portion of the trunk so the tray was shaped to fit against the built-in holder for the unit...

That's correct. I have the navi and trunk tray and it fits perfectly. The navi box is about 6-7 inches deep and a few inches high

I just got my 2004 TL and noticed the same problem with the Trunk Tray...it doesn't fit right. I'm a golfer and when I tried to put my bag in the trunk, it rested on top of the edge of the trunk tray and flattened it out. I also, occasionally, drink beer. A case I had purchased slid over the right edge of the trunk tray and flattened it out.

I'll be talking to my dealer. If Acura can't provide a trunk tray that fits, I'll have to ask for a refund on that option. I'd prefer a working trunk tray.

I noticed the same thing & thought maybe the dealership had given me a trunk tray from an '03 car! The leftover space is perfect for storing the cargo net when not in use.

Well, I reckon if I bought a pair of shoes, and they mistakenly put in an extra large right shoe with the correctly sized left shoe, I could take a positive attitude and say, "Why now I have a perfect place to put my wallet and car keys".

But, and maybe it's just me, I'd probably take the shoes back and get some that fit correctly.

It's the only trunk tray available for the '04 right now, and maybe ever. Either you leave the little corner exposed, or the entire trunk.

Do you mean that it should be interesting to try and trade this non-navi for a navi version.

(Sorry, I guess I was looking for the alternate solution to the problem.)

Yes, I have the Navi version, and my trunk tray fits fine. It would have been nice if they'd given you something to fill the hole though.

I have a non-navi version with a trunk tray. I have my small cargo net in the "gap" and it fits perfectly with my trunk taking on a custom look.

Check out "flouie's" post regarding more info on this subject.
