Your problems sound similar to those of another member with a recent thread in which his TL had a blown fuse; see https://acurazine.com/forums/religion-politics-18/bloody-end-russia-school-siege-152813/.

My windshield washer fluid seemed to be frozen all day yesterday. It would make noise, but nothing would come out. I need to call the dealer to see what type of washer fluid their using because this is a first for any car I’ve owned.

Everything else was fine (knock on wood).

Same thing happened to me, got a windshield full of junk, pull the window washer stalk and nothing happened except the wipers worked and no fluid came out. No noise no nothing. My car is absolutely filthy and there is no way to wash it. In this cold weather it would freeze up immediately even in my garage.

Oh BTW just upgrade you fuse for the wsher fluid to a higher amperage, Thats what my dealer Rallye "whcih SUCKS" did for me, made me wait 2 hrs, so they can change a fuse.

What happens is the fluid freezes up or becomes slusshy, and the fuse blows when the washer motor is trying to pump the fluid.

You just did u pull the washer fluid fuse, and upgrade with a higher amp. 10 amp more.

Doesn't make sense to wait at the dealership for a .10 part, plus yours mirrors and lights will start working again.

The place I go to is in Whitestone... it's on 12th Road b/w 150th and Clintonville St....

It's an ALL HAND wash place... Exterior Wash, Vaccum, Clean all Interior Panels, remove all-season mats and scrub them, Windex all windows inside and out, air blower all exterior creases after drying (to limit water from drippin' when you drive off), briefly clean leather... $20... takes about 30 to 45 min...

If you want to Wax Add $20
if you want to Clay Bar Add $20
If you want to Glaze Add $20

Those prices sound outstanding Rodney, Whitestone is a little too far for me though

I'm not sure whether the 04s have them or not... But if u wanna find out: before putting your car in reverse, move the mirror selector switch from the center to whichever mirror you would like to tilt while in reverse (L/R). It occurs about 1/2 a second after u engage reverse.

P.S. mirrors must not be frozen when doing this or u have no way of knowing whether it's a feature u dont have or whether it's b/c of ice forming.

my car is an 05. first time having these problems. its going to the dealership tomorrow.

did anyone else have problems like these??
1. Windshield washer is not working b/c (a) the fluid is most likely frozen and/or (b) the nozzle which releases the fluid is frozen.
2. Side mirrors won't tilt if there's ice on or around the mechanism.
3. If they only move down and to the right it's b/c (a) you have ice on the top and left sides of the mirror or (b) you have a mechanical problem.
4. That's just weird. Never happened to me?

To avoid the freezing problems, park the car (if possible) with the engine bay facing the sun. This will at least keep it warm in unbearable temperatures. Also, regarding the w/w fluid... drive around for a bit until reaching regular engine temperatures and then try it. Note: do not release w/w fluid in freezing teperatures! Hope this helps... and I also hope the dealership doesnt feed you a load of CRAP.

How ironic! I was coming to the forum today to post a similar comment about my '05 TL....

Temps in PA haven't been this cold (here in Harrisburg) for years! These are the problems that I have:

- Rattling (mine didn't rattle in normal weather conditions, now I hit a small bump and it makes a noise - my b/f says you'll have this with any car in this cold of temps - who knows?)

- Windows don't want to go down; I pulled up to McD's the other morning for a coffee and the freaking window wouldn't go down - and I haven't washed my car recently, so they weren't frozen from that type of moisture.

- Side view mirrors don't tilt going in reverse

- Windshield washer fluid only coming out one side **sometimes doesn't come out of either**

- And the engine seems bogged down; does not want to go, go, go like it normally does - and this is after I've let my car "warm up" for 15-minutes prior to leaving for work...

GOD, I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!

Get that MTF swapped out. That took care of the gear grinding for me.

Only problem I noticed with the cold was that my HFL link seemed to freeze up on my 06 non-navi when I made a call first thing in the AM - it was like it had an open connection to my phone but the steering wheel buttons wouldn't do anything. After a few minutes, someone tried to call me and it picked up its own and then the system was fine - weird, but it only happened once. I did also notice a few squeaks this AM for the first few minutes and then it went away.

As for car washes, I went to a local hand car wash last Tuesday, which was the coldest day of the week. Took me almost 45 minutes to get out because they had to dry the cars at the end of the wash before they took them outside otherwise the water froze instantly. Try explaining that to the boss for why you were late ;-(

Well guys I'm about 2 hours north of NYC or where my mom used to live Brooklyn and can say that I have had no problems as mentioned on this thread...today the temp got to 32 degrees and I decided it was time to wash my cars...so two hours later and a few numb fingers I got my TL and Rubicon cleaned up.......found a new chip on my TL and that was taken care off temporarily as when Spring comes around the corner I will wet sand and buff both my babies......

wow...if i hadnt read this thread, i would have never known about the tilting mirrors..

got my TL-S 2007 about 3 weeks ago, and honest to god i didnt know the side mirrors tilted..

i know for sure that theres no snow or ice inside the mechanism because it hasnt snowed in 2 weeks and i've given it a car wash last week..
hmm..
maybe the fuse is blown..

is the fuse to the side mirrors connected to anything else? wiper fluid, steering wheel lights?

Welcome to the forums.
There is a switch that controls which mirror swivels down.
You might have a fuse problem- see https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152813 for similar issues.

thanks will Y.. solved the problem... i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing having to activate the switch to the on position in order for the mirrors to swivel..
i can see how it would get annoying, having to move the switch from the left to the right depending on which side the parking spot is...

btw im in NYC and its freezing rain here..
i hope no one slides and hits my car..
