Not so great TL-S review
http://www.carpages.ca/go/roadtest/2...road_test.aspx
This review is pretty bad, it would turn off a lot of buyers. A lot. But for me
Who cares about fwd, this and that? Did you have fun driving it or not simply put? I had a blast on my brief test drive and I think about it everyday along with the bmw328i.

it's funny that the author states that the type-s' gunmetal rims are his favorite OEM rims on the market. i guess he hasn't seen the G35's 19" forged rims then.
it also seems like the weather may have played a big factor. how can you test a car's limits in snow, rain, and ice? no car will do well in performance in that type of weather. a rwd car may even be worse than fwd in those situations.
i don't know, i drive a base tl and i like the type-s. i guess we're all just biased. haha

meh, sounds like every other write up: FWD sucks, torque steer almost killed me, great interior and gadgets, good looks, blah blah blah.

Ouch. He didn't have many positive things to say about the TL-S. If things that are good, he managed to say they were not that good (like the seats). I want to know where he bought that TL-S...$46,300...I sure hope that is Canadian. Actually the Canadian dollar and the US dollar are very close now, thats pricie. Bottom line is that if someone gets in one of these cars and doesnt drive different cars all day long and doesnt autocross they will love the TL/TL-S. Only way this review hurts is if people dont go look at the car because of it, otherwise I think this cars interior blows the competition away.

All I have to say is wow. This guy sucks at his job. Yes the TL is a FWD car, and yes it will always have tourqe steer blah blah blah. Tell me something I dont know. It seems like he has been in the auto journalist bizz for a short time being that the way he writes is garbage. It so bias that the whole artical is slant. Almost not one "thumbs up". He doesnt even like the fact its white. Yea I do belive if people who come across this artical will have a big negitive effect on them without doing more searching on the internet about the TL. Any journalist will have a pro/con list and the TL has way more Pros than Cons.

Granted the guy is a little harsh. However every review I have read about the TL have one common thread. Front wheel drive on this car is a shortcoming. I don't think there is any getting around that. This car would shine with RWD.
I really hope that Acura goes with AWD in the next gen.

The author is kinda silly...sounds like an article in a high school newspaper, therefore I give little credence to his automotive expertise. Even if he is experienced, his writing lends little to be belived.
I, like many others, couldn't be happier with my TL-S. I think it's a great car and a fantastic value.

He did admit that he doesn't have much experience as an automotive journalist. It shows in his review.
Torque steer compliants in a high hp fwd car.....ya think??
Not much difference in a base model TL? I think he hit the crack pipe once too many times before taking his test drive.

Correct me if I'm wrong...I THINK that's the Canadian price. I saw that too, but then realized it's an article from a website in Canada.

I envy you Americans able to "steal" a TL-S in under 35K US, and that equals to under 39K CDN with the current EX rate.
I got my TL w/ navi at around 42K (which is already 3+K under MSRP), and with GAY TAXES, the out of door price went slightly over 50K.
And you Americans have much cheaper gas prices than up here in Canada.
Okay...
I'm done with my ranting.

.... Sadly, as much as the everyday TL was a fulfillment of all my expectations for a sporting luxury sedan, the Type-S was one of the biggest disappointments I have yet to experience in my brief career as an automotive journalist.
Sadly, as much as many automitive reveiws are informative and balanced, this one is Manic-Depressive. His obviously breif career as an automotive journalist is bound to be short, as he'll be having trouble getting cars if he does not learn the differnce between "balanced and objective" and "critical and biased".

The guy is testing the car on snow tires.....in the snow! Something seem wrong here.
Sounds like my old 04, I've never experienced anything close to torque steer on the type s. It's the constant critisism for the TL, so you know what Acura did, they fixed it. I'd like to see the competition even attempt to pull out of the lot in those conditions. Could be the weather, maybe the tires, but I dont buy it. Someone wave the bull sh!t flag please.
I read quite a few reviews praising the TL Type-S for its ability to harness all 286 horsepower with only mild torque steer and seemingly complete mastery of heavy power out of corners. Maybe you can chalk it up to the very good, very grippy winter tires (high-end Bridgestone Blizzaks) wreaking havoc on the setup in the Type-S I drove, but I was getting lane-changing levels of torque steer taking off in second gear, and that without showing any particular rush.
