I just subscribed to the S2k website and I am backing up the TL-S as well. You know its funny how ignorant and blind some of the S2K drivers are. They are in denial. They just don't know and speak before they search!

S2000s just don't have the torque to stay with TLs at higher speeds.

From a dig, I would expect the S2000 to pull a few cars depending on the launch.

S2000s are hard to launch. They just aren't made for drag racing, sorry. They have weak diffs, and add to that little low end torque and its rev happy nature... its hard to not bog it. People always underestimate TLs too, except for TL owners

Most S2k owners are cool and I still like S2000s but man, a couple select posters in there have no clue. Mugen header and Mugen exhaust for a WHOPPING 6whp.... I bet he spent at least $3k for that setup if it was new. $500/1 whp not accounting for dynoing on different days

Those old Camaros/Firebirds were slow as crap for the most part. Stock, they were 14 second cars, even the SS 396. Faster than most other cars during their time, but add to that they most people put traction robbing 215 bias ply tires on them just so it looks "legit". I raced a Firebird with a 400ci (6.6 liter) and I burned him in my Z28 even though I almost bogged. I got a half a car off the launch and he just got smaller and smaller in my rear view.

I wonder if that TL-S owner is on AZ???

Yeah i see most of the members talk down on the 6MT TL and saying it couldn't hang with their S2K's even from a roll. They just don't know i guess.

I had a s2000 with j'racing bolt-ons and raced a CL-S6 from a 30mph to 120 roll and he pulled about 3 cars on me (he pulled mostly from 80-120)

Thats why I bought a CL-S6 ( I will race any s2000 to show him)

Yes the S2k will lose on freeway. I spanked one with ease in 4th or 5th...no need to downshift.

On the street the s2k might win from a dig depending how far u guys go

Stock auto, yes.

Bolted auto, it would be relatively close.

Just post these links there:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...re+page-5.html
0-to-60-mph time: 5.5 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.1 sec @ 101 mph

http://clublexus.com/forums/car-chat...racetrack.html
1. TL-S 6MT - 1:36:67 sec
2. IS350 - 1:38:24
3. G35 6MT - 1:38:67

These should give them a better idea of what the TL-S is capable of.

haha, ya. From my understanding, if you are looking for more gains without boost, the K20 is better at that than the F20C. The F20C is pretty much optimized/maxed out from factory, the K series on the other hand is not as optimized. It's not rare to see 250whp N/A K20 series.

That murdered out S2K on there is pretty sweet. They're awesome little cars; I'd love to drive one. I notice their times are all over the place though, from mid/high 13's at 100-101 to low 15's. The good drivers are nailing 1.90 60 fts on street tires. In a proper quarter mile run, I'd say a well driven one will edge out any stock TL.

And what's up with the guy on there who's wife is beating 350Z's, G35's, and '05+ Mustang GT's with an '09 TL? Don't the new AWD TL's trap at like 96 mph? 305 hp doesn't go far in a two ton AWD car. Maybe she's racing them for like half a street block. The guys on there who think one is quicker than a 3G Type-S crack me up.

For intake, I guess it depends on whether you have SRI or CAI. For exhaust, it depends on what setup you have, from my understanding, ATLP has the most gains as it's been shown that it can give an additional 11whp on a 2g TL-P with headers vs one with just headers alone.

Get a aem v2 for ur car... best intake u can invest in. Dont worry too much about water getting sucked up because ur car gotta be submerged in water thats a good 2 ft. or so.

Then get a j-pipe and race/test pipe. Then precats

I'd stay away from SRI's personally. They can actually cost you horsepower compared to a well designed oem intake.

If you can't afford a CAI right now, it's not a bad idea either to do a DIY CAI using the stock air box.

SRI won't give you as much HP as CAI. Also you get all of that heat soak from your SRI. All that engine heat is not helping any. As far as a catback exhaust I know for our AV6 you gain about 7WHP and 6WTQ. For the intake its closer to 10WHP and 6WTQ. Not bad considering basic bolt-ons. The J-Pipe and test pipe will add a few more ponies. You might lose low-end torque though so be careful with the 2.5 inch piping. I know my magnaflow catback is 2.25 then at the axle it increases to 2.5. Better for low-end!

ive had this car for several months, and it is harder to drive it well. specially from a dig. and it doesnt feel too fast on the highway either. TL felt like it pulled harder from both a dig and roll but, i might be the FWD on the TL why it felt faster.

this car moves in 2nd and 3rd tho.

In your TL-S auto I am a bit suprised you pulled on them in 3rd since they trap 99-100MPH. Good run!

I have ran with a s2k before in my fairly stock TL. We ran at a roll and my car was neck to neck with him the whole way. If I would have turned off my A/C I may have been able to inch away.

I just have an intake and stage 3 exhaust at the moment and keeped up with it. If we went from a dig I would have lost horribly.

I've never played around with an S2000, but I think I would give them a decent run from a 40 roll.

S2000s are so much more fun to drive though ..

^ may be it's a good idea to run with from a dig too, hoping that the driver of the s2k launch the car at like 6000rpm.
