NOS questions

alright this is my first time attempting to get more power from my stock engine. I got a few questions before i start anything. Sorry if any of these questions sound dumb, but like i said this is a first for me.

1. Is there a NOS kit for our 04 TL's yet?
2. Can you have a NOS kit and a supercharger?
3. How big a shot should I go with (50, 75, 100, etc.) if I use NOS?
4. How much HP are we going to get out of the comptech supercharger?
5. what other upgrades should I do to my TL, so i dont kill my engine if I use NOS?
6. Anyone who has/had used NOS, How much for a kit?
7. Last of all is it worth it?

I want the supercharger so I can always have that extra power, but I would also like to have NOS just because you never know when you might get that urge to go really fast. I plan to upgrade my tires to 18x8.5 at least, and to upgrade my breaks to brembo ones. Any extra in put would be great.

1)i dunno if a specific system is available yet but i think a NOS system for honda would work. the only thing i would be unsure of is the drive by wire. the nos is activated by the throttle body so i dunno if this poses a challenge(proabably not).
2)yes but now you are playing with fire. engine is 11:1 ratio. adding a supercharger is pushing it already. with the addition of nos there would have to be some change in the ECU to retard the ignition timing.
3)i would start off small with a 50 shot and see how that goes. NOS can always be tuned for more hp.
4)the comptech is rumored to be 60hp increase.
5)
6)they are generally cheap, we're talking hundreds, as opposed to S/C which is about 5K.
7)probably gonna get flamed for this but we are talking fwd car here and adding more power to the car might not achieve much greater results after a certain point. the car simply cannot grip the road as well. i think its a much better upgrade to get lightweight wheels and sticky tires instead. the car will handle better, go faster and stop better.

i would go with the supercharger instead if you are really looking for extra power. 60 may be little but since its a positive displacement blower it will be available all over the rpm range not just a peak number. the nos system is nice for a cheap added hp. but you run a limited supply depending on your bottle size and the hassle of getting it refilled when you run out.

thanks for answering my questions. I have been hearing everyone talk about the high 11:1 Ratio. I wonder how mch it would cost and take to change the ECU ignition timing.

Since the 04TL J32 engine is within the same series as the 6gen V6 Accord J30A, it can handle up to 75 shot of NOS if you really want to play with it. I have a friend that is running 55 or 60 shot and nothing wrong with his car or tranny. As for your ECU...I wouldn't touch it but you might want to look into a VAFC to play with your timing controls and such. If you have the money, go for it, otherwise it will turn out to be a costly project.
