Maybe the weather is getting warmer, my type-s is avg. about 27 MPG, about 80% hwy 20% city ...

just because the car is new to you, doesn't mean the car is new....

the previous owner might not have ever changed any filters or oils out, so you as a new owner need to set a new maintenance timeline by replacing anything that you know that can be replaced easily, like engine oil, trans fluid, filters.

if you don't, how do you know if the previous owner ever did, and at what mileage he changed them out at?

i bought a used 08 tl with 30k miles on it. at 32k i changed engine oil, air filter, cabin filter. the cabin and engine air filters were dirtyyyy black. this was with only 30k miles on it.
