I've noticed that when the car is shut off, that you cannot lock the steering wheel. Is there reason why ?

Which brings up another question, how is the Anti- thieft system in the car, if someone was trying to start it without the key

there is a steering wheel lock......

 

The anti-theft system uses an Immobilizer circuit, meaning there is a chip in the key which is needed to complete the circuit and allow your car to start, so if the someone who is trying to start your car is not a professional thief, it probably won't start.

 

yo my steering wheel does lock.. there have been amy times it locks with me getting out. now this is not an automatic thing. i like to have the steering position all the way down. so its kinds close to my knees. So soooooooooooooooooooome times when i get out i rub with it and i turn it and it locks. But it does lock. you need to have the car on or nothing.

 

Thanks, I figured it out, and i did read the Manual. Its just that with my old car the Acura CLS the steering only needed to me turned alittle bit so it would lock. On the TL its alot more turn needed than i thought.
