No luck finding 2008 WDP TL Type-S in Ohio :(

Almost about to settle on a NBP or KBP if I don't find a WDP soon enough. Kind of sucks because I personally think the WDP is by far the sharpest of the TLs.

KBP is good.

Search the nearby states too. If you're in Western OH, search IN, etc.

I like the KBP too but I had my sights set on a WDP for so long.

I know that these cars basically last forever, but what would you say is the max milage/price you would purchase for?

I'm thinking like $22k/60k miles is what I want. Saw a 07 WDP for $16.5k but it had 90k miles on it

My friend, I waited 2.5 years for my CBP due to financial setbacks as well as not being able to find the right price/ mileage on the car.

I strongly suggest that you keep your eyes open and eventually, it'll come to you! Got my CBP for $24k/ 28k miles, immaculate condition exterior and interior. Worth the wait and I've never been happier with the car!

Apologies for the double post:

I decided to take the liberty and look up some listings for you near your area. Mind you, I don't know exactly where you're located in Ohio so I just kinda did an all around search!

08 Type S in Sidney, OH - $23,601 / 45,559 mi http://tinyurl.com/6m6o4pl
------------------------------------------------
The rest listed below are out of state. If you want WDP that badly...road trip?

07 Type S in Fishers, IN - $17,950 / 119,690 mi http://tinyurl.com/6rqlxws
07 Type S in West Chester, PA - $22,900 / 51,700 mi http://tinyurl.com/894vy8f
08 Type S in Barrington, IL - $23,900 / 69,444 mi http://tinyurl.com/7fqzjpu

I hope this helps!

I learned this when I purchased my bike. Bought a used bike, not in great condition. Two weeks later I see a nicer bike, same model, for a cheaper price.

Needless to say, I should have been more patient.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a nice TL though. The only time that dealerships get them in though is on new car trade ins because other than that nobody in their right mind would have a reason to stop driving one!

I'm trying to decide if there is too much risk involved in purchasing one that I find at an auction, craigslist, or from a private seller.

Opinions?

I'm probably a bit partial as I've got a WDP, but if that's what you want, keep looking. Look nationally. Twice I've bought a car that was over 400miles away from home. A quick one-way flight only costs $100-200, and taking a long roadtrip home with a new car is a great way to get acquainted.

This forum is great. If you need a member who's nearby a prospective car to check it out, it would be no problem. I randomly posted a question about a PPI on the Mid-West forum, and I received PMs from 2 members locally who were willing to give the car a real thorough once-over.

Good luck with your hunt!! And as was said.... DON'T SETTLE!

I agree with the others.. do not setlle.. because every day you drive the car you "settled" on you will always think "what if" .. I cant complain too much since I have a WDP and I love it.. I cant imagine being in another car.. well nothing under $70k

when I bought my NSX I had to have a 91' Sebring Silver. I'm glad I waited and found one. I flew from Chicago to Denver, CO with a buddy. We drove it back the 1000 miles and it was a blast. The other responses to your post are correct: Wait or travel to get one. Don't settle.

I'll back everyone else up and say wait for the right car, you don't want to settle for something and have the exact car you're looking for go on sale the next day. I remember seeing a WDP tls with a-spec wheels at acura of columbus a few months back, so they do show up.

My top choice of a TL-S color was WDP and 2nd and 3rd being NBP and KBP (KBP being an exclusive Type-S color definitely had it's appeal) as well.

Also PM'd

I suggest doing a search on CARS.COM. And if you REALLY WANT a WDP Type-S you will have to be WILLING to go to any length. I plan on buying the same car. 07-08 WDP TL Type-S with ebony/grey leather. I live in Northern IL and a few awesome ones have been close by, but they are around $26-$28,000. I am willing to fly to California if I have to, and drive it back.

I searched on cars.com and found the Type-S that I wanted. The Acura dealership was 1 hr. 30 minutes away from where I lived and they offered to drive the car to my home. If I didn't like it the dealership said that they'll just take the car back. They let me test drive it in my area and I instantly loved the car and signed the papers.

I didn't go to the dealer, the dealer came to me

^ Damn, I've never heard of a dealership doing that before . . . especially for a used car.

I've always had good luck with Cars.com. Find yourself one and have it shipped to you.

I'm debating on whether to sell my KBP Type S and based upon the pricing above I may opt to sell mine. Will likely list this evening in the for sale section.

JJH, Carmax has a 2007 WDP Type S in Schaumburg Illinois with 50K miles and selling for $22,998. They will ship the car to another Carmax that might be closer to you for a few hundred bucks. That's how I got mine, saw it online in Columbus OH and had it shipped to Raleigh, NC. No regrets for me. You are on the line for the transfer fee so you might want to have it checked out by someone else on AZ that might be in the Chicago area. Anyway, thought I would mention it to you. Here's the link to the car.

I settled on my '08 ASM TL-S 6MT when it popped up at the dealership during my test drive of an '08 NBP TL-S 5AT. ...of course I wanted a manual, but my colors were WDP, ASM, and NBP for preferences. However, that MRP is REALLY growing on me

I looked for 2 years for the right color, transmission, mileage combo. Just picked mine up 700ish miles away from me in New Mexico.
