I think you've experienced a blip in your reading comprehension, maybe you should read his post over again. He did say the word "vanity" but not in the context you imply.

The only reason I brought back the thread is because I was Searching for a way to get around the front plate issue, but I agree that if there is no good solution that leaving the front plate on is the best bet to avoid unwanted attention.

Sorry for the confusion -

In Quebec, we're lucky, we don't have front plates and it's legal (they only give you 1 at the license bureau). But we aren't allowed customized plates though. So I guess you win some and you lose some.
