^ Pete, it ain't just the bracket. Unless you are from a state with a black license plate, it's the contrast of the plate itself that makes it stick out like a sore thumb. The bracket just highlights what's already there (plate).

White against a colorful background sticks out. "Sticks out" is referring to being really noticeable, not just actually sticking out from the vehicle.

this is true..im leaving mine on for now..cops in NY stop me all the time as it is for my tints..i gotta get a new PBA card from my neighbor - xpired in 07..its better then an excuse..got me out of so many tickets

I love Arizona; no front plate required and most of the cops, at least in Phoenix, don't care about stupid little crap.

I drove my TSX without a front plate for 3 years and never had a problem in good ole UT. Well I put 20% tint all the way around my new TL and wouldn't you know, got pulled over less than a week after having it on. Lucky for me I have a cop friend who signed my fix it ticket, so hopefully I can drive a little slower and attract less attention. I don't think that in UT they care about the front plate cause the cop that ticketed me for my tint didn't say a word about the front plate.

I live in Mass and have one of the old green and white plates. They only have a rear plate. i'm moving to NC and they don't have front plates there.

I have a 2006 TL and I bought it used, when I bought it, it already had the license plate bracket, I tried to take it off but when they installed it the drilled a hole in the front bumper. I hate the front license plate and it looks so cool without it because it says acura

NY and yea that combined with the 5% tints and the 35% windshield tint = getting hasseled every once and a while, i live on long island in a square mile town though so same cops on patrol day in and day out lol, but they got used to it after a few stops and tickets, i think they actually realized i really had no intentions of fixing anything so they pretty much leave me alone now, but it can be a problem, also gives them a reason to pull you over and find something to ticket you for, and if ya had a few drinks or something one night, could be a pain in the ass, so id say choose wisely

In NYC if u rol around without a front plate you're definitely getting a ticket. I used to do it with my turbo accord cuz i didnt want to block the intercooler and got many tickets. Its usually not the cops stopping u but the traffic cops are the ones hat give tickets for that too!

i know this thread is old but the thought of the front plate still haunts me. came up with an idea to utilize the tow hook to relocate the plate(how often are you really going to use the tow hook). welding a bracking using the tow hook and just spin on/off the plate? i have a few friends who have done this on bmw's. the hardest part is trimming the tow hook down enough so its not sticking out, and welding the bracket to it where the plate can bolt up to.. - i guess i will be the first to try this - once its done il post pics

+1 hahaha!!! im with you bro. ive gotten pulled over 2 times for this. the first time i borrowed a TL just like mine from the dealer (i used to work for acura) and took it to court to have them check it. the second time the officer helped me put on the plates and lwt me off. i told him i didnt know how to take off the little plug off my car (what ever its called). as soon as he left i took that shit right back off!!! unfortunately he did give me a ticket for dark front tints. FRONT PLATES LOOK UGLY

I love having Florida Regristration in VA. The cops on base hate it, they are always asking where my front plate is. I love to see their faces when i say its a Florida car. Being from Florida is also good with my 100% 50 state illegal tints of 5% all around. Especially the front 12" strip which is twice the legal length.

i dont know if this has been posted before, but i read once on this site a great idea that someone else did.

the person bought another license plate bracket from ebay, broke it, and kept it in the trunk. when the cops stop him, he shows them the broken bracket lol. they let him off easy since he claims he cant put it up. im going to start doing that once i can find me some plugs for the damn holes. i dont even know what to ask for at the dealership lol.

Drove my Z in Houston for 3 years with no front plate and never got pulled over for the sole reason of no front plate. I got pulled over for other things and they always mentioned the front plate but never ticketed me for it, just got verbal fix it warnings. Had the TLS now for 3 months with no front plate and no hassle so far..... I say take it off

I don't have a front plate on my Talon. Almost 12 years... Have gotten one ticket last year when I parked at a meter in Chicago. I tried to park really close to the car in front of me, but they still looked. No fix permitted, just straight fine...I think it was $60 or $65.

iono about you guys, but if need be, here in washington, you can carry your front license plate in the front dash/mirror - you're golden. but of course, i don't do it...haha

don't worry about texas, if you get pulled over just keep it under the rear floor mat, and say it fell off, either hel'll let you go, or give you a ticket, if he does give you a ticket, just MAKE SURE it is marked as a "repairabler offense" that way you can just bolt it on for a couple hours at the court house, someone comes to check it out, then the ticket is dismissed, you pull out, and take it off. I once put it on and took it off in the court parking lot.

Same boat here. All you have to do it zip-tie the plate to the lower grille and snap a picture. Take thet picture to court and show it to the judge. Case dismissed.

I have been driving without the front license plate here in Texas without the Police stopping me since February, "Knock On Wood".....ordered the vinal "Acura" labels for the front and my local Acura dealership gave me the bumper plugs.....looks so much better without that ugly metal plate in front.....

Yeah man. I actually did an early lease turn-in on my nbp... This picture makes me miss my baby :o( I picked up a 08 WDP MT a few weeks ago.. I had almost 50K miles on the car in just over year Right now the new tl-s is garaged in virginia obviously where front plate is required. Whenever I go down and take her for a spin I just throw the plate in the front windshield and have not been hassled yet. I was pulled just after having my tints installed (5% all around) 50% windshield. I was let go with a warning but was told if I get pulled again the fine will be no less than $1000... that's robbery, lol
