if u notice, most new car don't have one install on it. espcially the luxury brand in texas. and most cop in texas don't look at that area..

Got rolled about a month ago in SoCal for this. I actually got pulled over for speeding, 90 on the freeway. Got out of the speeding but he got me for front window tint and no front license plate. I had to donate $204 to the State of California in the end. You're welcome Arnold.

I got pulled over for some bogus red light/carpool violation. But my buddy who were in the car vouch for me that I DID wait till the light turned green and then flyed away ... then she looked at my front plate and gave me a fix-it ticket, $10 ... plus a trip to the local traffic court .. I really had to bite the bullet and put the plate on 'cuz that's all the cops seem to be doing here in the bay area : minor stuff ...

This is what i do - I put those suction caps (2x) on the licence plate and KEEP IT IN THE GLOVE BOX.
I don't even like putting it on the wind shield it looks ricey. So I just have the suction caps
on and put it in the glove box and if cop pulls me over ill get it out of my glove box and i'll
just tell em
"oh the suction caps fell off while i was driving and i couldn't put it back up cuz i was driving"
and what are they gonna say? ill just say ill put it back on =P

here in wa we are required to have a front plate. but one question. why do we have to have a front plate anyway? i mean when cops pull you over they only look at the back of the car, not the front. plus its a waste of alluminum too. i say 1 plate on the back of the car will make things easier for everyone =)

I live in Illinois where plates are required. I have had mine off since the day i bought the car and have never got hassled from cops or been pulled over. I work on the North Shore where everyone drives BMWs, Benzs and Bentleys with no front plates...Nobody gets hassled.
The only times i have ever gotten a ticket for it was from a goodamn Meter-Maid in the city of Chicago. Two out of three days i parked in a certain area (with the plate on the dashboard, visible to the outside) i got a $50 parking ticket for "improperly displayed plate". Complete bullshit...now i just dont park in that area anymore. No plate looks SOOO much better!

I live on the north side of the Kansas City metro area and bought my TL in Kansas. The dealer put the temp tag in the back window (it's a full size tag made of cardboard) and low & behold I got pulled over in Randolph, MO for the "improper display of temporary tags" Cop said i had to mount it on the plate bracket however in Missouri you get a little slip of paper that is taped to your back window.

I suggest doing that, or asking a parts guy if they have any laying around. To order them from Acura is, if i remember correctly, $36 for the pair....which is basically rape for 2 pieces of nickle-sized plastic!

Drive our Pilot around Austin for 5 years with no front plate. Got stopped once while hauling a canoe in some little town near Waco but just got a warning. Been driving my TL with no front plate and just a paper plate for the last two weeks with no problems. Good way to skip tolls for a little while I hope!

Anyone in NYC riding without the front plate? I know for sure the moment I'll take it off, some ass cop will pull me over to give me a lecture.

no i haven't got pulled over...and yes...she scrapes...
god that's a pretty crazy/smart idea. I know a bunch of people who don't have plates in Long Island, but that's Long Island. Dunno how it is for the city people.
I always wondered about this tho, because I always see these crazy ricer kids with their 500 lb front bumpers and no plate. wonder how they get by.

Ive never had a front plate on any of my 6 cars and have been pulled over more times than anyone i know, and have only had something said about it like 2 times, and both times i said i couldnt have one because it would block the intercooler and the cops were perfectly fine with that...guess ive always been lucky but i definitely cant use that excuse anymore

im thinking..nothing compares as nice to not having any front plate at all, but for the people who live in states that require it and dont want to be bothered with cops - instead of using the factory lic plate bracket that holds the plate to the bumper since its so thick and sticks out - using a flat thinner bracket and have it paint matched so you can barely notice it and its flush against the bumper would look a lot better

Left it off for about a year or so and my wife used to work in Waikiki. That's where most of the rookie cops start off at and got pulled over once and while waiting for her a cop told me to make sure to put it on. My wife said, "Put the damn thing on before we get a $100 dollar ticket!" So, on it went. Looked alot better without it yah?!

found some pictures from the NY august car meet..notice the thickness in plate brackets..mine is closest with thicker bracket. imagine how the thinner bracket would look once its color matched
