it almost sounded like the writer was more a student of creative writing lol.

I have owned other cars in the group that has been mentioned and well I would disagree with some of what what said. If you read other mags they say acceleration was just ahead of a buick and that is the S model, imagine where the TL places. The sti and evo are not in the same class, the expectation there is cafe racer and not sport sedan.

As for the fastest revving V6 they encountered, well they apparenting have not encountered the 3.5 v6s put out by other jap brands.

when comparing apples to apples the S is very competent and preferred by many for style features and price. It does many things well. The TL has has it share of nagging issues and some serious one over the years, where having owned a few cars, the other models did not suffer from the same issues.

I would agree that the materials used in some other models are of better quality which translates to better wear down the road.

I would not go hunting for late model mustangs for stop light runs though since unless the driver is caught flat footed, they will most likely be beaten eveyr time. I also don't think the drive train in the TL would handle hard driving over the long haul as well as some other models...

" ... this ain’t your Grandfather’s Acura."

I haven't done the necessary research to absolutely, positively confirm this, but I'm pretty sure they weren't making Acura's when my grandfather was buying cars.

“Want to teach your kids about acceleration, braking, and lateral G’s? Strap them into the back of the Type-S and let the lessons fly. They’ll learn more about physics in this Acura than their science teacher can ever offer.”

My kids *have* had a lesson or two on Lateral Exceleration.

Yeah, he's a little over-the-top and doesn't quite seem to grasp the market segement/demographic this car targets, but it's fun read.

Nice review... I have an '07 Type-S 6 speed, so I approve. I'm not a racer, but I've been known to push the limits occasionally.

Not looking for Mustangs, though. Good advice!

I agree with this article 100%. I've test driven it twice and the engine is very fast revving. Faster than the G35 and 325i I test drove before it. But only buy the 6 speed manual, I tried the auto and was bored by it. Its 2 vastly different cars depending on your transmission choice. I am starting to like this more than the 328i I have been drooling over lately.

Wow that author wrote a glowing article about the TL-S. I have a stock 05 TL and I love it. I can't imagine how the TL-S rides. Now I wanna go to the dealer for a test drive.

I can't wait for the 09 model to come out.

This article does make me feel good about buying my Type-S a month ago.

I thought it was funny how he mentioned "If you owned an Acura NSX before you got married and had kids..." Crap, I couldn't afford an NSX back then! (Not that I can now). My bachelor-hood car was a similar sports coupe: a $14K Prelude

This statement is just erroneous though:
"I feel bad for 350Z and G35 owners. Almost identical price and performance when compared to the Type-S, with the exception of the Acura’s leg room designed for people taller than 5’10”, a real trunk, the ability to seat five, and a stealthy exterior that doesn’t cry ‘Mid-life Crisis"

The G35 sedan has a larger trunk and has just about as much interior room as the TL. My wife has a 2004 G35 and I drive it all the time. I am guessing the new G35 is just as roomy. Of course, maybe he's referring to the G35 coupe, but then he's not exactly comparing apples-apples. I personally think the G35 sedan is every bit as good as the TL-S. I bought the TL-S because my wife already had a G35, the TL-S gets better mileage, and this forum is a tremendous resource and I don't think the Infiniti has anything like it on the net.

I am wondering where they get "If you owned an Acura NSX before you got married and had kids...". I worked my way up from Neon Sport, RSX-S and now TL-S. Must be nice to start at the top.
