Newest TL Owner
To make a long story short my 2002 Honda Civic was totaled on Feb 15, while looking for a replacement I found this site and have been impressed since. Yesterday I bought a 2004 Acura TL 84k miles for 14,400 after dealer fees. I looked at the carfax and the veh had front end damage from an accident back in 2007. I drove the car home (120 miles all on highway) and it rode great, everything seems to be in working order. I contacted an Acura dealership who advised they could do an diagnostic check on the vehicle for $95, do you guys think it's worth it or should I just ride on. BTW, I didn't purchase the vehicle from an Acura dealership. All opinions are welcome and pictures are on the way

Welcome
95.00 for a diagnostic...do you have a check engine light? If not then its a different service where they do a inspection on the car from top to bottom. I wanna say its 50.00-75.00.
I remember when i got my suv i called them and asked them about that and they said it was some kind of Travel Check for when you go on a long trip.
If you do have a Engine light jjst take that bitch to Autozone or Advance auto parts and use their scanner.
If you do have the Cel and you wanna take it to the dealer they will use that 95.00 towards the repairs

Nice SSM and i see you got the Aspec side skirts but no Front and rear o well lol
rear bumper sensors are a cool feature but not popular at all among us, but congrats on the purchase. Pics are too dark to see the calipers it is a 5AT or 6MT?

I guess the previous owner had it hooked up, when I put the car in reverse it keeps beeping until I put it in another gear. So i guess the sensors are not hooked up. It's a 5AT, I'm tinting the windows ASAP, I'm in GA so the darkest I can do is 32% but from what I've heard and read that should be dark enough.

Congrats, I was thinking of buying a TL from those guys there. They have a good selection for lower prices. Did you see the carfax before you bought it? Also, I would have done that top to bottom inspection before I bought it. $100 bucks is about average I think. I took mine to a smaller garage for $75, so $25 more for a dealer sounds about right. But if I did it again, I would have brought it to the dealer just cause they "should" know this car inside and out. I think it's worth the piece of mind to see if there is any frame damage, etc. Good luck!

I got mine inspected at an Acura dealership for $125, guess I overpaid.
But that aside, I think it's totally worth it. The dealership found that my outer CV boots were leaking, and the guy I bought it off of took care of the repairs himself. Now I feel much better about the quality of my purchase.

lol yea I know but I have an iphone I use for directions so I'm not so willing to shell out the $180 for the newest one. I was thinking about looking for an older version like 07-09 years. I looked on ebay but didn't see any. Any other ideas where I could find them
