First, great community, appreciate all the DIY info posted here. I did 3x3 ATF drain & fill, ATF filter replacement and 3rd & 4th switch were replaced since joining.
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon looking for proper pads and rotors for 2006 TL Base w/Navi. The search for "DIY brake pads" sticky returned with hundreds of related posts, I need to learn how to use the search function,
My Tl currently has 69,500mi on the clock, brakes are still going strong, but the pads are thin, needing attention soon.
Is OEM pads any better than EBay or any other brand? If 3rd party pads are better accepted here, please recommend the vendors/brands. Also, should I replace the rotors as well?
On my other vehicle, 1999 MB ML320, I have been replacing rotors every other brake work, but this will be my first brake work for TL.
Thanks for your great work and help IA, please show me some recommendations and point me toward proper DIY, Appreciated!

Obviously, AT and I'm in Northern California.
But I do travel a lot, mostly with old ML320, but need to drive TL more often in good weather. Thanks!

Hi sparky!
you'll have better luck using google to search specific topics. Be sure to include the website name in your search, for example:
"Acurazine TL Brake pads"
this will yield waaaay better results than using the forums search bar.
2nd, I have been having great luck with Autozone's Duralast Cmax Gold pads and rotors.
I install them on my friends TL and RL's and even my '12 Kia Sportage.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick help, Justin!
Got the trick, Acurazine TL brake pads
What do you think about rotors? My brakes are still very strong at 69,500miles, think I could skip rotors this time? Thanks again.

also, if you're comfortable changing the brakes on the MB, you'll have no problems with the TL.
it's pretty easy!

of course, you can keep on trucking with the same set of rotors.
I would.
you seem to be confident on working on the car and with a little bit of driving and inspecting, you'll be able to spot when you do need to change the rotors.

I wish I'm, but I'm really tech challenged. Also, 99 ML320 has a lot more room to work, straight forward, in a way.
Thanks!

if you think ML brakes are easy, you will think TL brakes are cake. There is no space issue in the TL. You can always turn the wheel to make it a little easier, but I have always done just fine as is.Originally Posted by Sparky16

ML has bigger tires and much larger wheel-well,
