newbie question - 3G TL

Can anyone tell me what is considered high mileage for a 2004 TL?
I interested in getting one but dont have the cash to get an 05 or 06 right now.

"High" mileage would be 75k+ IMO

Hit kbb.com and you can see how it starts penalizing the after "normal" mileage is surpassed.

as with any car, just figure 10-12k a year as good, 15 as medium, over 15k/yr average bad.

Well High mileage would be depending in that state. Like the in Cali the avg driver would be 12-15k a year easy. Then if your in Hawaii it would be much less. But for an 2004 TL i would shoot for something like 30K or less. so about 10k a year. Anything around 50k and up I wouldnt touch. And also you want to concider what area the car was most drivin in. ie: near alot of salt water or a place that has alot of snow.

I dont think miles would matter if the car was well matained. It could have a million miles on it and still run like a champ if the previous owner kept the car in good condition.

The high miles in cali may not necessarily be worse than the few miles from Hawaii though. I'd rather have a car with high miles from kansas or arizona, than a car with significantly less miles but from an area with horrible traffic, where most of those miles are undoubtedly stop and go.

True, all factors to concider when buying a used car. The Hawaii reference is 50k in Hawaii is like 100k in the states. Ive lived in Hawaii and buying a car with 50K is really taking a chance and the price would drop big time as to buying a car in the states with 100k.

Boy, that's a lot of miles, 80K. However, to be honest if the price is right and the car is relatively well maintained I'd probably buy. I'm from a Honda/Acura family. My first car at 16 was a civic, bought it with >100K miles on it and it served me well throughout high school and early college and them my younger siblings used it for several more years. My mom still has a Acura Legend with close to 200K miles on it and still counting.

I say Nay.

84k miles is too high, for that year and the asking price. Heck.. I wouldn't buy it even if it was cheaper.

I say save up some more money and get something like '05 or '06 with 15~ 20k mileage.

Fleet vehicle can mean many things

One of the SCARIEST propositions is if it is a resold renatal car. I ABUSE THE HELL out of rental cars when i am traveling for work. I know most others are the same way.

Now, that being said, I think we can all agree that TL's / accords are some of the most reliable cars around. The difference here is the price, the mdifier on the price should me MCH better for 28000 miles a year.

Blue book for that vehicle assuming "clean" condition is 21,500 to 24,200. If it includes a warranty of some sort (make sure what is covered and for how long is pelled out clearly) then it seems like an OK price.
