Newb NBP 6MT with Navi

Hey whats happenin-

Well I just bought my first TL this past weekend. 2004 NBP Ebony, 6MT with Navi. Im only 22 so the newer ones were still a little out of my price range. Scooped it up for $19,500 which I thought was a damn good deal.

I'm from New Hampshire and up here we dont have a seatbelt law, so naturally I was wondering if the fasten seatbelt warning can be fixed? (and yes I'm aware the easiest way to do so is just buckle up)

Another question I had was about the tail light upgrade to the type-s ones. Is that an easy project and a light hit to the wallet?

Finally about the nav, I dont think the guy who owned the car before me ever bought a new nav disc, I see they are comin out with the new one with a special offer for 150 bones or whatever, but can older ones be re-used or should I just pick up the new one??

Hopefully I'll upload a picture but that might take a while before I can get it clean with all the wonderfull snow and messy roads up here!

Let me be the first one to tell you BUCKLE UP!!! Oh, welcome to AZ too. I'm not going to go into a rant on buckling up, you are your on man. That being said, BUCKLE UP!!! The Type S tails require rear bumper cover removal to install. The price isn't too bad. I have the same car as you. The old nav disk will work just fine, just won't have all the newer roads and some of the features of the current disk. I'm thinking about picking up the new version myself. Did I mention BUCKLE UP!!! Seriously, don't be dumb. You wouldn't drive your car with no brakes right? Why not take 4 seconds to put on a seat belt??? Whatever...............

benny- welcome to the forums and congrats on the TL. How many miles on it?

The TL-S tails is a easy project and should cost < 250 if you do the install yourself. You might want to go onto the Acura website and look to see what was added in your specific area to the new Navi disk. If nothing was really added, then IMHO don't get it.

Regarding seatbelts- imho- just put it on.

This forum does not allow any threads which talk about circumventing the use of the seat belt due to safety and liability concerns and the fact that we could get shut down if we didn't stop them.

ggesq- thanks for the heads up. I dont exactly want to start a safety war like that other thread, so I guess I'll just buckle up! and I got the car with 48,500 miles on it, so hopefully if anything does go wrong it will happen within the next 1500 miles!
