New TL-S in Atlanta
Hey guys - Just wanted to say I finally picked up a new ASM TL-S 6MT yesterday. Many of you read about my 06 TL 6MT NBP being stolen a couple of months ago:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=STOLEN
I got it back from the body shop on Wednesday and although it looked really good and seemed to be in good mechanical condition, it just creeped me out a little. I decided to go with a new TL-S.
Also want to mention that I bought from Jackson Acura in Roswell. In case anyone's in the market in metro Atlanta, definitely give Darren a call. He came out with a great offer right off the bat and was very patient with me because of my unique situation. Definitely the best car buying experience I've had.
Pics to come soon!

congrats on the new ride! how do you like the S compared to your 06? i think i would have gotten rid of my car too if that happened to me as well. how much did you end up paying for the S? did you trade in the 06?
sorry for the "interrogation"

The S seems to be a completely different car! Much stiffer, very little roll in the corners. Steering is heavier and tighter and you really do feel the power difference compared to the TL-P. Especially with the 6MT, the car seems to pull away better at lower rpms when my 06 would have lugged.
The nav is still a little distracting for me since my 06 was a non-navi. I hope it turns out to be useful day to day rather than just a gimmick. I'm looking forward to trying out the traffic report on my commute from Kennesaw to Sandy Springs tomorrow morning.
All said I am really enjoying the car! No regrets at all.
I did trade the 06 and got around $25.5k for it. With the diminished value check from the insurance company I think it added up to a fair market value. I paid around invoice for S.

Congrats on the new ride. I wish that I had heard about Darren before. I looked at an RL at Jackson Acura before I bought my 03 TL-S back in March. When we went to look at it I was totally disgusted. The sales guy was some sloppy fella whose name I will keep to myself. (It was definitely not Darren). It was an 05 RL but looked like someone had driven it through some thorn bushes. At any rate, I buy from Acura Carland in Duluth. They are some great guys, and what impresses me is that I never see a car look like that on their lot since they have an on site body shop. At any rate, I will definitely have to call and give Darren a chance next go round.

Hey, congrats on the upgrade and hope to see you driving around here since I work in Sandy Springs as well. There's an '07 NBP TL-S in the parking garage at work, but it's an auto.
And for you Atlanta folks, there's going to be a meet this Sunday, July 1st, at Lake Lanier. Come out if you can and check https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/atlanta-lake-lanier-meet-july-1st-2007-a-366714/ to get more info.

Hey guys, I'm in Smryna and work in Tucker. Yea, it SUCKS. I didn't get the navi, and have tried at least 5-6 different ways home from there, none of which saved time. Maybe I'll get a portable Navi. This commute is killin me!

The hive & historical trend mapping systems that should be coming out next year should hopefully do a bit better - but I'm hoping the NAVTEQ data gets closer to real-time before then.

Better be careful man...Tucker is where they recovered my stolen TL.

Man, I am having some buyer's remorse. What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting in this town? I'm getting 20mpg with a mix of highway and city driving. I am NOT happy paying $3.12 a gallon for premium and getting that crappy mileage! I may have to get rid of the car at this rate!

Vector, they suckered me into the Karr trac plan (like lojack), so I'm not too concerned, plus I'm in a secure garage at work. I also garage the car at home. So I'm more concerned about it getting stolen at the mall, L.A. Fitness, etc. I don't leave my office in Tucker very often at lunch.

JeffAtl, your car is fairly new; thus, the MPG you're getting now. It'll get better after the break-in and some mileage. Before I had put on aftermarket wheels, I was getting close to 28mpg with 90% hwy driving and 10% city. Now that I've move closer to work and the majority of my driving is city, I'm getting 19mpg.

Yea, it is new with just about 500 miles on it so far. Love how it drives, but if gas prices keep going up, this may end up being a bad decision. I feel like I'm driving a damn SUV with the mpg. But I'll take your word for it that it will get better. I'm going on a 500 mile round trip (all hwy) this weekend, so I'll see how it does. I know I'm bitching, but I went from regular unleaded to super (bad enough) and now getting 8-10 less mpg than my '99 Integra. I knew it would be a little less, but not that much.

I'm in L.A., but visited ATL, GA many times due to my ex-gf residing there (in Dunwoody, near Perimeter??). Anyway, it must be lovely getting on the toll freeways and taking off at night! I envy you guys for having newer freeways with more lanes, ah! L.A. is too congested...
I think my ex goes to Lake Lanier quiet often...I'll ask her if she sees a bunch of TL's to take pics for me. lol! So, if you see a girl taking pics that's not part of the forum and has a dude with her...WACK HIM! ahahah j/k.

Dtech, you keep in touch with ex-gfs?
Dunwoody is a nice area. My wife and I are considering it since we each have a 20+ mile commute each way to work. In Atlanta, that can take an hour and a half. Don't be too envious of our highways. They are totally stopped between 5:00-6:30. Don't even try to leave work during that time. If we could re-route these damn trucks, we'd have no major issues.
