New TL owner

Hi Everyone! My name is Sarah and my husband and I are proud new owners of a TL. We bought our TL on Wed. and we got an 05 White Diamond TL w/nav. We also added the deck lid spoiler and body kit. We drove the car a couple of days before getting the kit. We are just amazed at how much better the car looks with the kit.. sooo sharp looking. Now of course my husband is itching to get rims on it now
Anyway, I hope to learn a lot here from you all. I LOVE my new car!!!!

We got the car with nav, spoiler, kit, and all weather mats for $35K. Is that a fairly good deal? It was the best deal out of the two dealerships we went to.

35 with title and everything? Or was that with all the stuff before they start to screw you. We walked out at about 34.5 without the spoiler and kit(we got the all season mats, and the tire wheel warrenty).

LOL!!! Funny.. true though. $35K was just the price of the car with all the whistles. Final drive off with TTL,warranty, etc. was $39K

Thank you everyone. I finally got approved to post.

Our previous car was a 2002 white diamond Escalade. We also own a 2000 Honda Accord. Previous to that, we had a 96 Acura TL 3.2 (19 Altsadt's/coilovers dropped) and a Nissan 300z with bodykit/rims. We can post pics of these cars later.

I have to be honest with everyone, but the TL is far more superior than any of these cars we owned. I have fallen in love with my wife's car! Its really hard giving her the key to drive when we ride together. We bought this car to conserve gas over the Escalade. All the features the Escalade had, are in this car too. I was pretty surprised. There are numerous items that each do not have.. the Escalade has a little more control over the computer driver settings and we really loved the On Star feature. But the look of the interior of the TL is very stylish and unique (I was never a fan of the interior of American cars). The TL also has a couple of little things here and there that the Escalade did not. But for the most part, they are identical at the convenience it brings to the driver.

We were going to wait on the 2006 TL, but we needed a car ASAP since we sold the truck previous to buying the TL and then ran into transmission problems with our Honda Accord just last week and were using this car to car pool temporarily. We couldnt risk driving the Accord anymore since it was our only means of transportation and it was out of warranty.

Anyhow, thats our life story. Im glad my wife decided to buy this car over any other brand we looked into. I dont think she understands the beast she just unleashed out of me while I start to look for upgrades for this car. Im from the old skool and love a clean and simple look. Now we are in the stages of looking for some nice wheels and a clean drop.

Did you get the 7 year 75k or 100k mile warranty? I went 75k probably should have gotten the extra 25k miles though. I think I paid $37 give or take a bit with everything out the door minus the rear lip spoiler (because Karen Radley in Woodbridge dicked me on it). Otherwise you got a pretty good deal. White is such a beautiful color on the TL too. That was my first choice but the first dealership didn't want to deal. However, there were no WDP's where I got mine so I settled for SSM (satin silver metallic). Enjoy the car!

I got an '05 WDP/Parchment 5AT w/Navi for $33k with the protection package on it. They wouldn't deal on the 6MT I wanted.

Thanks... haven't had a chance to read all the manual yet. I will be sure to read it. My husband has been itching to see what the car can do, but waiting of course!!

Oh and whoever asked the question on the warranty... I got the 100K mile warranty and also paid $500 extra for GAP insurance if I need it. We drive a lot here in this big city and didn't want to get in an accident and have total loss and be upside down due to the mileage. I know it's always possible because we totalled out an Accord in 2002 when some dude ran thru a red light and hit us.

I think TL'n It Up was referring to the rather large rear seat you guys now have in your new TL when he mentioned the "Break in period"

But I could be wrong

We can break both in.

By the way, the break in period said 600 miles. 100 more miles than I suspected. More time to wait.
