New TL help?

i just bought my wif a 2005 tl. i know some things from modifying my car and being on my.is but im new to the tl modifications. i plan on modifying it but not to the extent mine is so im keeping it pretty much oem with some stance. i shaved the rear emblems and baked the headlights(took out the amber and painted the chrome black chrome). im basically looking for some help figuring out the oem visual/interior mods i can do. i know tls tails and 07-08 fog grill and i keep hearing about tls sidemarkers but after three days of searching im still not sure what a tls sidemarker is. the sidemarker on my front driverside is blinking like its going out so i was going to get a replacement but what are my options? they come in smoked i know and i think amber. is there a clear? what is the tls sidemarker? ive been searching for three days with no avail so if someone will help thatd be cool. thanks

I think the front side markers are smoked but the rear are red on the base model. The type-s has rear smoked side markers. They light up but don't blink.

The TL-S sidemarkers are the rear ones, on your 2005 TL they are bright red. On the TL-S they are smoked just like the front ones but still glow red at night. As far as the front sidemarker, make sure that it's plugged in all the way before you replace it. If you do replace it, go with an OEM one, the ebay ones look pretty .

The A-spec kit is a great mod to help improve visuals and as well wheels, lowering it, tint, etc.

Is the car a 6MT? If yes, the slave valve removal greatly helps clutch engagement for sporty driving. Also look into the "ziptie" mod and the corsport bushings for a crisper shift.

If it's a 5AT, changing out your transmission fluid is the FIRST thing I'd do. Stick with Redline D4 if it's your wife's car or a mix of D4 and Type F fluid if you want a slightly crisper shift.

Remember maintenance is key to a happy car! The timing belt service is supposed to be done at 105K, coolant change at the same time or at the 7 year mark. Filters are every 30K miles.

Take a look at the photography gallery for some ideas and modifications that you might like as far as appearance. As far as performance, there is a thread stickied to the top with most of the available mods.

thanks guys. that thread was really helpful and i think youve answered my question. i think im just going to drop it considerably pull fenders a bit and put some 11 or 11.5 inch rims on it. might do the aspec kit but not sure. probably to tls sidemarkers maybe tails too and then a nav conversion. probably be it.

haha thanks, it would depend on what rims i guess if it would turn heads. she wont let me go all out like i did on my car, which is probably a good thing on the TL.

anyone know if the s2k springs and rear section exhaust fit on the TL? a friend is getting rid of some s2k parts. id say the springs would but has anyone seen the springs on the back of the TL? sheesh they are like 2 feet tall. id be rolling gangsta with the back dropped. they are sleeve over(would be temporary) but i dont think theyd compensate that much
